“Fun but waves a bit intimidating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

Beautiful beach with a gorgeous cove. We visited in February this year and the waves were a bit intimidating. Not for little kids for sure. April was much more calm. Definitely recommend.

“Favorite Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

This beach can get busy on weekends....suggest going during the week and the sunrise is just beautiful if you are an early riser. A postcard picture and for the bold....a jumping rock that is a must try. Make sure to get someone to take your picture as you leap into the waves....then soak up the sun and relax.

“summer lovin winter surfs up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

in the summer waimea is a placid bay great for the keikis to play in the water and the setting is just beautiful
great spot for picture taking spending a day at the beacj Just beware the parking fills up early and please DO NO leave valuables in your care here or anywhere in the islands
You are likely to have a unpleasant memory if yoiu do
the locals know Waimea is one of the best
in the winter the waves the the surf is unbelieveable you will see the woner power and glory of the ocean when the waves start hitting 15-30 feet
be akamai (smart)and get there early and have a wonderful day at Waimea Bay
No food available so stop at the nearby Foodland to stock up on snacks and drinks
Remember dehydration is always a concern in the Hawaiian weather and do protect yourself and the kids form the intense Hawaiian sun
be sure to stop and see some of the other sights while on the north shore and pick up some delicious fruits at some of the fruit stands along the way Fresh coconut pienaplle dragon fruit lychee rambuatan when in season lets you experience the many flavors of the tropics ;)
and if have time check out the heiau (temple) located above Waimea Bay
DO please respect the sacred grounds

“Rare View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

My pic unfortunately has a couple rain drops but the sight was incredible. We went to dinner at Haleiwa Joes next and above our table was the same picture. We asked if this was a common sight there and apparently it is.
