“The Ultimate Beach Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

This beach park is "home" to several of the world's most famous surfing waves. The name Ehukai is not on any surfing tourist directory for a reason. The winter season presents the world surfing tournaments...believe me NO swimming here unless you have a death wish!! Summers, however, are totally different in that the clear blue ocean is "flat" and beautiful for swim and play. Careful, there can still be a strong beach break to step out from. Perfect mounds of clean, soft beige sand and deep blue sea close to shore. Take a boogie board and plenty of sun screen and swim the Pipeline, Backdoor, Pupukea, Gas Chambers, Rocky Point and be able to brag that you survived them all. Aloha!!

“Relaxing day at the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

Was a bit further then expected but worth it, we liked how it wasnt as crowded and more scenic. Good place for a picnic seeing as how the tables were close to the beach.

“Get away from the bustle of Waikiki”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

This was my second time to Ehukai Beach. We were trying to go to Waimea Bay but there was no parking anywhere and after many frustrating circles in the parking lot we decided to head over to Ehukai which always seems to have parking. Much quieter beach and it is MASSIVE! very long beach with no people. Bathroom facilities available. The waves are very strong even in the summer. Standing on the shore you can feel the power of the waves trying to drag you into the ocean but, that being said, kids play with the boogie boards and people float in the water with relative ease. i wouldn't surf up here though unless you know what you are doing. No rental facilities up here either, probably for that very reason. The only bad thing about this beach is the sand! It looks like sesame seeds and sticks to you FOREVER! if you are on the north shore and can't find a spot at Waimea Bay definitely drive up the road to Ehukai. You will see a school field and a tennis court across the street.

“Beautiful north shore beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

We all enjoyed our visit here. We drove from Honolulu taking H1 then H3 (beautiful drive thru the mountains) and followed signs for the North Shore which was a drive along the coast. There where many places to pull over and enjoy the views. The beach was large here and the surf was warm & a lot of fun. We did not experience any big waves while we were here. Restroom & changing facilities across the street. There is a lot of parking but spots do fill up quickly. Continue your drive to the town of Haleiwa from here and then back to Honolulu. Great day with a beautiful views!

“Thundering Waves Even in May!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

This was a fabulous beach to spend an afternoon. If you are brave, venture into the water and try to ride a wave. These waves are big, even in May. You could get hurt if one smacked down on you. We did not go in the water but enjoyed watching others. The beach is beautiful and has a lifeguard station. Not to be missed if you drive up to the North Shore. We headed there from the airport via the highway to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, then north. A beautiful way to spend a day.
