“Lots of fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We were on a family vacation (ages 18 months - 61 years) and this beach was perfect for everyone. The youngsters could "bodysurf/ boogieboard" while the oldsters wade in the waves and build sandcastles with the toddlers. Washrooms handy, gorgeous, clean sand. Lots of parking, easy access.

“Beautiful beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

One of the prettiest beaches on Maui. There are several hotels along this beach offering many options for food and drinks. Great for sun bathing or making sand castles! The whole family will love this beach!

“Charlie Dolfun's Scuba - Simply The Best Maui Dive Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

Charlie Dolfun's scuba is located by the pool at the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui.
Charlie Dolfun's is the perfect place to take your family (kids 8 years and above) to learn to scuba dive. It's also a great refresher if you are certified but want to sharpen up your skills. I would recommend the family sitting through the lecture even if you are a certified diver to ensure you are using the same communication under water.

The staff are all professional, very friendly and absolutly laser focused on safety. I took my wife (not a certified diver) and nine year old daughter to Maui in June and she was a bit nervous about trying scuba diving until she met owner Charlie and her instructor Matt. They were both super helpful in giving her confidence that diving would be both fun and safe - they were right!

Everything was provided including mask, fins and wetsuit and of course the scuba gear. She enjoyed the dive lecture and the dive lesson in their separate heated dive pool used only for scuba instruction.

She made two pool dives and then three ocean dives under Matt's personal supervision. The dives were all beach entry dives meaning just a short walk into the ocean from the pool. We saw every kind of colorful fish and sea turtles on every dive. The staff will rent underwater digital cameras that you can use, or they will take underwater photos and video for you if you prefer - we opted for both.

Scuba diving is an amazing experience (I've been diving more than 30 years) and very easy to learn under the right instruction. We've been back in Seattle for three weeks and my daughter still talks about her diving experience and even asked me if we could move to Maui last weekend!

We continue to receive emails and photos from our new and what I'm sure will be lifelong friends.
If you are in Maui and want to try something new that will put a new level of fun in your life - take a dive and experience the other half of island beauty!

“Great Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Enough people that you don't feel lonely but not too much that it feels crowded. I loved it would certainly go back there - also further down the coast there are bigger waves which are really fun!
