The beach here is beautiful. I can't understand the people complaining about it being crowded. The two spots in front of the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea have their beach chairs and umbrellas spaced pretty close together (I'm betting they're only allowed so much space as it's a PUBLIC beach!). There is tons of room to spread out, we were there almost every day of our 10 day holiday and it was NEVER very crowded. There were always plenty of places to spread out and not be within 20 feet of anyone else.
The surf was great for the kids and kids at heart to play in, and there is decent snorkelling at the edges of the beach. We snorkelled on the left side (when facing the ocean from the beach) and saw all kinds of fish, a barracuda and several sea turtles! We also got some amazing sunset family pictures done here as well! A must visit if you're in the area!
