We didn't swim here and found this place by accident. It was south of where we were staying in Makena and we just took the road as far south as it would let us go. You go through lava and then you can park and hike to some beautiful areas. I don't think we went all of the way, but enjoyed every minute. Take water and wear sunscreen because you end up hiking further than you think you will. There were a ton of goats as we walked as well. We saw some people fishing, others sun bathing, and others snorkeling. Only restroom is a porta-potty and the parking area is somewhat smaller on some rough ground.
