“Two times the fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Just back with a group of 8 family members.Stayed in 2 seperate units, both 2 bed 2 bath lodgings. The room in building 5 was a 2nd floor unit,2100 sq ft,we all could and should have stayed in the one room, but liking some privacy from the kids we also had a ground floor unit in building 36,somewhat smaller and not refurbished but very nice with a view of the golf coarse and ocean.Didn't have any complaints with either room.No air but didn't need it,had the windows open and this kept the room very comfortable. This Wyndham is close to the shopping center and other Wyndham resorts.Front desk great.I don't know what people are complaining about in the other reviews......We had none.

One of the only good things we can say about this place is, the view kept changing! One day a Ford, the next day a Chevrolet!! Place was really disappointing after a long travel day. Very large, but old and run down 2 bedroom suite and awful view of the parking lot. We stayed here for one week but luckily moved to another condo down the road we secured with VRBO, with an outstanding view which made the rest of our holiday! I don't know about you, but if I pay all that money to travel to Hawaii, I want a nice ocean view and you just don't get it with these Wyndham properties.. And the pool was the coldest pool I have ever been in, in my life. And I am from Canada!

There is the resort, and there is the place we stayed in the resort. The resort itself was fine - overall nice and met our expectations. The place we stayed in the resort was far below our expectations.

We rented a "deluxe studio" apartment. By this we may anticipate that the accomodation was something that someone might live in for an extended period - thus differentiating it from a hotel room which anticipates a transient living arrangement and less overall capability. This was certainly not a "deluxe studio apartment". It might pass for a small, relatively cramped hotel room with a small fridge and a microwave. The area considered "the kitchen" was clearly carved out of what was probably originally purposed as a small closet. "The kitchen" was about two thirds of the area of this small closet space, the other third being a tiny closet space (our clothes basically had to stay in our luggage). There was no cooktop, a tiny counter space insufficient for food preparation, and a tiny sink that was minimally sufficient for washing dishes. There was no place for the tiny amount of silverware provided, so that had to sit on top of the microwave. The original microwave didn't work and that needed to be replaced (which was done graciously by the staff). On hearing our dissatisfaction the resort staff did manage to find us a Presto griddle and a crockpot - which we were obligated to use in the bathroom - there being no place to use them in "the kitchen".

The rest of "the apartment" was consistent with the impression that this was originally purposed as being an additional bedroom with bathroom for the main apartment. The door separating this bedroom ("apartment") from the main apartment was a single door with a minimal lock. There was a deadbolt but it was not useable with our key. Security was no more reliable than a simple passlock. The "bedroom" was small and cramped, with no place for suitcases - which we ended up needing to put into the bathtub. There was a "dining table with two chairs but this was in a tight space at the end of the bed, making it awkward to sit if floorspace is occupied by travel gear.

We could go on and on; but, this is enough for you to get the point. If you were to come to this "apartment" expecting a small, cramped hotel room with a small fridge and microwave then you might be reasonably satisfied (if your room rate was also consistent with this accommodation). But we came expecting a "deluxe studio" apartment - which this certainly was not.

One last thing, we were on the second floor, which was a good thing because the small balcony was enclosed and formed a place for us to put the crockpot and griddle when not in use. If you were on the first floor you wouldn't even have this since the patio on the first floor has no security.

On the positive side, the resort itself was nice and well-maintained, though consistent with an apartment complex and not a lavish hotel resort. The staff was very pleasant and tried to be helpful. However, there was nothing they could do to change the accommodation itself nor to get us some other accommodation (nothing else being available). They did provide us a griddle and a crockpot, which made it possible for us to cook simple things.

So, bring very low expectations and you might be satisfied. Otherwise this is going to disappoint you!

Room Tip: Don't pick a "deluxe studio" unless you really know what you are getting into and the...

A lovely place to catch the sunset and enjoy first rate food. Reservations a must, but you can often find a seat at the bar or lounge, if you arrive around 5.
Mostly fish, but other selections available. Enjoy, The sunset is amazing.

We found this resort to be perfect for our needs. We had planned to stay for a week, but due to a family death, we were able to stay only three days. Unit was extremely large and comfortable. No problems. Very understanding staff. Weather was rainy but it didn't hamper our activities. We had stayed here before and would again.

My wife asked for a remodeled unit 2weeks before we stayed there. They couldn't guarantee us but we got a really ice 2 bedroom over looking the golf course Blythe tennis courts. I usually stay at the Marriott on the other side of he island, we were with family so the condo made sense. Condos are great to keep the family together. The rooms were very clean, jacuzzi bath tub. Granite counters. Flat screen tvs in each room. The pool was decent. The location is perfect. Overall. I thought the condo was well worth it. However, if you like your rooms cold this condo did not have AC. August would be miserable here.
