While this course does not command the presence of Mauna Kea, it is still a beautiful course on the Coast of Hawaii's Big Island. This course possesses more panoramic views of the ocean and forces you to deal with high winds on most shots.
My reason for such a low rating is that there was significant construction on the back side of the course. This fact was prominently disclosed by the Pro Shop as a courtesy. My concern is that in about 5 years there will be nothing but homes and condos all around the course instead of the beauty that is Hawaii.
That being said, the course was in great shape and the difficulty of the course required great shots to be made. I played this for $65 after playing Mauna Kea in the morning and believe it was worth that price, but I would be hesitant to pay more. I played this course on February 4, 2006.
