“Horseback ride to the rim of Waipio, a secret waterfall, picnic and have a swim”
Well, having just come back from my 3rd trip to Hawaii, I just had to write a review about these guys... If you've always fancied the idea of riding a horse through beautiful forrests, nibbling tropical fruit along the way, inhaling the fresh scents of ginger flowers, be rewarded by jaw dropping views of Waipio Valley when you stop for a quick break and then last but not least, have a swim in a cascading waterfall pond after a little snack....? Then look no further. These are the guys that will provide this for you. Not only that, whilst riding, you will learn about the local flaura and fauna as well as be told some of the fascinating legends. AND... the horses are well trained, beautifully cared for, with decent and comfortable tack. They have horses to suit all experiences. I went with my boyfriend and a friend, all three of us were experienced riders, so we were given horses that were obedient and responsive. A pleasure to ride! Our guide was totally charming, he plucked flowers for both myself and my friend and handed them to us to put behind our ears, all the while snapping lots of pictures of us which he promptly emailed to us! What a gentleman!
Word of recommendation though, if you are going to brave the bracing water, suggest you bring some reef/rock shoes with you as getting in and out of the pond is somewhat challenging when you are windmilling around on the boulders and pebbles, trying to ease yourself in gently!! LOL All in all though, a thoroughly worthwhile experience!!!
