We stayed in Augusta for most of one week for a baseball tournament, but only one night at the Holiday Inn. (Because of a rainout, the schedule got pushed back one day and the hotel where we had stayed for 5 days couldn't accomodate us for the final night, so we moved to the Holiday Inn.) The beds were SO-O-O much more comfortable than our previous hotel. The room was pretty standard Holiday Inn, but it was very clean and well maintained, and included a microwave and mini-refrigerator. The pool is large and nicely landscaped, including lots of tables with umbrellas and plenty of chaise lounges. The laundry facilities consisted of only two washers and two dryers, a bit of a bottleneck considering several softball teams were staying there, but this was still one more of each than the larger hotel we had come from! The breakfast buffet was adequate and our kids both ate for free. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and wish we had been at this hotel for our week in Augusta. (BTW, the Fort Discovery Science Museum was fabulous; better than anything we have in Atlanta!)
