1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

The outside appearence of teh hotel was run down, The inside deemed fine at first and first all aroud checks were fine. Turned heat on and the bugs started crawling out of teh matteres and across the headboard. Manger was obstinate and did not want to give our money back. Never again, Never again. The aboslute worst place I have ever stayed. Finally switched to the holiday in and had an excellent room.

To start with, yes there was no shortage of shady characters walking around at night when I checked in, and in the morning when I checked out. Around 11 p.m., I heard some loud rap/hip hop music in the room behind mine through the wall. I was still up watching the TV, so, no big deal. The noise was over way before I was about to fall asleep, but others might have an issue with loud noise at this hour.

My main complaint is that the air conditioner in this room (#220) might as well have not even been there. On the absolute coolest setting, it was barely able to keep the room as cool as it should have been.

Appearance wise, this place only had one flaw that I could spot: the litter on the stairs and all around. Needless to say, people staying there apparently don't know what a trash can is for, or are too lazy to use it.

On the plus side, the room only cost me $40 plus tax for the night. It was exactly what I was looking for: affordable for someone definitely on a budget, but still not lower quality for the cheap rate. The location in downtown Augusta is convenient if you plan on spending a lot of your time on Broad Street, as you are right there already. As other reviewers mentioned, I was never approached about anything such as drugs. If you aren't interested, avoiding eye contact and giving no response is your best bet. No sense in responding anyway, as that only gives them more of a reason to talk to you.

Based on the price and experience combined, I would definitely consider this hotel again, and just hope that the air conditioner works better in the other rooms.

OMG. you can call this the SLUDGET INN. Curtains falling off windows, Lamp shades stained with I DON'T KNOW WITH WHAT with cob webs in them. Lock BROKEN on door. Air conditioner and fire alarm were coated with dirt, dust, nicotine. Fire alarm, I doubt even worked. Little red light not on. Light switches filthy. Bathroom flooded when took a shower. I asked for extra towels the owner came with one frayed towel and preceeded to walk up in our room,UNINVITED, HE COULD HAVE BEEN A MURDERER FOR ALL I KNOW. NOOOOOOO, DON'T GOOOOOOOOO.

ok on a one to ten scale ten being the best this place is a negative ten when you find bugs in the tub and a condemn on the floor (try explaining that to your 3 year old daughter) it makes the mind wonder about sheets, covers, towels, etc. just plain out trashy place crack heads hang around back!!! the only people this place is suited for is the health department and police officers normally wouldnt even care if it was minor worst place to stay better off in the alley beside where you are going only nice thing was the staff the locks on the door do not even work

It is not the four seasons - but it is a solid value for a place very close to the entrance to the Masters. I stayed with 6 family members spread out over 4 rooms. We are planning to go again next year! We were there for the golf and nothing more. A few great places to eat are within walking distance,
