“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2010

Beautiful hotel, super clean, fairly modern, great staff, and even a pretty good restaurant in the lobby. Within walking distance to Cracker Barrel for breakfast (across the street) and less than 5 mins from Fort Gordon, the highway, food, etc.

This is a very clean and beautiful facility. We used it to house executives for our convention and they loved the hotel.

As with any group function, there were miscommunications, but the sales rep, Sherrie, handled it with class and took great care of us.

I WOULD use this venue to host another event if we go back to the area.

We had not stayed here before. The room was fine and very clean. Would have been nice to have a bit larger work area, but the space was certainly adequate. The housekeeping was great and the restaurant perfectly acceptable (Kem's). We had the breakfast/room combo and were very happy with both. We ate dinner every night in the restaurant and had no complaints. Good food and service. On the night of the snow storm (!) they handled dinner for an unplanned wedding party of about 25+ people. They managed our small order very well and with good humor.
If you want to use the internet in your room I suggest you borrow an ethernet cable from the front desk. Works more reliably than the wireless in room.
Would definitely stay here again. This was a "renovated" Holiday Inn and it seems they are really getting their act together.

Great hotel. Friendly staff, nice pool and hot tub area. Certainly improved my impression of holiday inns. I had no problem with the internet. It worked quite well and was faster than most hotels I've stayed at. Nice décor in rooms, modern and fresh. Great access to I-20 and nearby several reasonable restaurants.

This hotel is neat and clean although it does not stand out in any way. The rooms are clean although quite small unless you get upgraded. The "executive" room has nothing exective about it and was small with no extra ammenities as far as I could tell. The oversized rooms were better and more like a normal hotel room although they cost more if you do not get an upgrade. The hotel food is decent at best and breakfast is not included with the room. They are doing a lot of training with the new wait staff and they are pretty good and very nice. Nice happy hour specials and good beer on tap. Appitizers are half price during some weeks and are good sized. Nice pool and hot tub although they sometimes do not get serviced as much as they should, a lot of sand in the hot tub. Overall a decent hotel.

So I was concerned what we would find when we checked in. We were redeeming reward points and I went through Priority One website to book. I was shocked when I checked with Trip Advisor that I might have made a mistake. I used the Internet in the Business Center late in the afternoon of our arrival and then the next morning around 8:30 am in our room. I had no problem. I liked the mod look of the decorating of the hotel. The indoor pool was a little cool but worked for me and our beds were very comfortable. My husband used the exercise room and liked it.

The management may claim to have fixed the internet, but it HAS NOT been fixed. There is maybe a two hour window in which the wireless will work, other than that you have to hook to the e-cable. Not what I wanted to do.

We had a few other problems, small, simple ones, but they were repeated throughout our stay. It is a clean hotel, nice location, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. Especially the internet!!!

The internet is no longer an issue. Travelers are able to get onto the internet quickly and maintain a stable connection for hours at a time. We are happy to provide great internet service to all of our guests at no charge. Come and check it out!
