The fried chicken, squash casserole, fried corn & corn bread is wonderful! I love Southern cooking & you can't get food like this in upstate NY.

“Ask for the poor mans special it's the bomb!”

Can be expensive but just ask for the poor mans special it's the bomb! Weaver D can be rude but you gotta get past that and get to the food.

“Just like I remembered”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I went back there when I was in town for UGA homecoming. Nothing has changed. Great soul food and Weaver is still working the front. Everything on the menu is good, but I'm partial to the meatloaf. Folks tailgating at the games still order large amounts of his fried chicken. If for some reason you don't get full on your meal, order some homemade cobbler. Can't wait till we go back.

“Very well executed meat and two, but recently raised prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Weaver D's was recently hit by the economy and almost had to close their doors due to lack of customers. Once that news hit, the town rallied around the institution. However, prices keep crawling upward, and our bill was over $20 for 2 lunches, and that seems high. I'll keep coming back, though because so far its the best fried chicken I've found in town. So far everything I've tried there has been a hit.
