The location is what brought us to Pulaski Heights BBQ. We have a 3 yr old daughter that is obsessed with trains. The property is situated right next to the tracks & if you're lucky you can be seated upstairs next to the window overlooking the tracks. The ambiance was incredible as were the wait staff. We started our meal with a round of drinks. The beer selection was choice & the whiskey sour I had was simply divine. The cherry on top was just that, an amazing black cherry imported from Italy! I almost ordered a second drink just for the cherry.
I ordered the Redneck Reuben that was the special of the day. The sandwich consisted of very thick bacon, smoked pimento cheese & collard greens served on a locally baked ciabatta roll from Luna. My tastebuds screamed in delight..it's that good! My sister in law opted for the other special, the pork green chile, which was equally amazing. We all shared sides sampling around the table. The collards were perfect, as were the mac & cheese and the squash casserole.
The folks that ordered BBQ at the table left with full bellies & completely satisfied. I was able to steal the last little crunchy portion of BBQ chicken on my husband's plate and it was so yummy. The sauces were good, although I would like to see them add a Carolina mustard sauce to the collection. We all left extremely happy with our decision to eat there & I look forward to coming back. A new restaurant added to the roster to impress out of town guests!
