“Not your standard, generic hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

For my husband's birthday, we got a sitter for the kids and decided to spend the evening downtown. When we checked in, the friendly desk clerk asked, "What brings you to Athens?" We laughed and confessed that we actually live in Athens and just needed a night out. The clerk said, "Well, then I'll have to upgrade you to a suite." Awesome! The location is perfect for walking to and from restaurants/bars downtown and the suite was lovely - large rooms, high ceilings, fridge, coffeemaker, cool decor. There's definitely an Athens vibe (local Jittery Joe's coffee, framed local band posters instead of generic arwork) that makes this place feel more special than the standard run-of-the-mill hotel. The price for a regular room was definitely reasonable, although I can't comment on the price/value of the suite, since we didn't pay for the upgrade. We'll definitely stay here again (if we get lucky enough to have another night out.)

Every time I visit Athens, this is where I stay. The hotel does not show its charms on the outside, but inside is so modern, clean and artistic. The service is great as well. There are artful touches throughout, the hotel is also within walking distance of downtown Athens. Love this hotel!

The location perfect. The hotel is very clean. The staff is very helpful. The business area printer was broken. The person working the front desk allowed us to use the their office to print. We had a great time there. Perfect little bar for the evenings.

Room Tip: I prefer a room that let's you look in at the city.

This is a very nice and different place to stay. The staff there is friendly and helpful and the owner will even sit down and talk with you while your having a drink. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance.

Room Tip: Rooms on the University side are quieter

I have stayed here at least a half a dozen times and usually no complaints, but this time it was like everything was a little off. We pick this hotel when we have a conference at the Classic Center, price is reasonable. This time our amenities weren't replenished so we ran out of soap, there wasn't any of the typical niceties we usually enjoy and when we came back after the first day, one of my wine glasses we had brought was gone. Our bill was incorrect after we had talked about it when we checked in. I was so disappointed, but like I said, this was just one visit in six or seven times. Usually everything is fine, but the bar is pricey and you have to buy coffee in the morning. It would be nice to have fridge or microwave, but the rooms are very nice. It was horrible weather, but if you go when it is nice, the outside patio is awesome. Go to Trader Joe's, get a cheap bottle of wine and sit outside. Great way to unwind. Free WiFi, a necessity for me.

I don't usually write reviews of hotels or restaurants, but our experience at this hotel was so good that I had to write about it. This hotel is a gem. As a LEED hotel, the environment of the hotel is amazing. From the moment you enter the very modern lobby and see actual art on the wall, you realize that you have gotten a better deal than you even thought. Our room was spacious and very clean. The hardwood floors and big windows make the room feel new and luxurious. And so quiet! You don't need to worry about any crazy party neighbors at this place - the concrete block separations between the rooms is apparently part of the LEED certification.
The staff was great and the dining area/bar has great local coffee and great local beers. We were there during the college basketball conference championships and their three plasma screens made it possible to watch several games..
If you are coming to Athens and want to stay in something other than a cookie cutter hotel, you should really try to stay here. You will not be disappointed.

This hotel is clean, attractive and in a great location! The lobby and common areas are attractive to the eye. Our King Room was spacious and comfortable. The air conditioner was so quiet! The shower was a spacious walk in with two shower heads. Park your car and leave it! You can easily walk to the restaurants, bars and shops. The only downfall is that you have to pay for parking.
