“Beautiful hotel that gets better every year!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Humuya Inn is a family-owned boutique hotel that just gets more lovely every year! Our mission group of 9 depend on Humuya to be an oasis in our busy week in Tegucigalpa and they deliver with excellence. The restaurant is a major asset - daily menu posted or order from the menu. We appreciated the late snacks available...rice & beans or a baked potato. Wifi available everywhere in hotel....3 computers available in the courtyard area. When you stay at the Humuya, be sure to check out the rooftop pavilion....it's outrageous! The furnishings and decor look like a magazine spread - very nice! The rooftop is big enough to host a party for dozens of people and the view is the best. The laundry facilities are tastefully housed in one corner. We would not consider staying anywhere else - Humuya is centrally located in an upscale neighborhood.

A great place to stay in the heart of the city. The bilingual staff is very helpful with anything needed. The Inn is very secure with 24 hour cameras, parking and guard. Peaceful terrace looks out over the city. My family stayed two weeks ... A true home away from home!

This is the third time I've stayed at Humuya Inn. Being from the US, the Inn offers a wonderful Honduran experience and is not the typical "big hotel". The gardens, the wonderful rooms the tucked-awayness of Humuya make this a definite favorite of mine. You could certainly call this your Honduran home away from home. Quaint and cozy! Quite and sophisticated! You feel as if you've stumbled upon a little secret!

If you're coming from another country and want to experience Honduras, this is the place! A little ADVENTURE in the big city!

Thanks to Humuya and the staff for making my stays something I look forward to. See you in the Spring!

Humuya Inn is definitely a great place to stay while in Honduras. The owners and staff made you feel welcomed. Every morning the breakfest was worth getting up for and the dinners were very good as well. The hotel has a great atmosphere. There are several computers with free wifi, which was a great plus to stay in touch with my family back home. The rooftop area overlooking the city has an amazing view, great place to relax. Overall, a really great place to stay.

I traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras on a mission trip with a group of coworkers and family members for 5 days in June 2011. This was my second stay at the Humuya Inn, and it was just as great as my first stay. The knowledgeable staff members at the Humuya Inn were attentive, respectful, and helpful. Each morning there was a plethora of breakfast foods to choose from, including cereal, fruit, bagels, eggs, and french toast / pancakes! They have jams/jellies, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and FRESH coffee, too! The rooms are spacious and come equipped with cable TV, free WI-FI, and comfy beds. There is a laundry facility and a gym on-site, and a masseuse too! The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous -- the lobby doors open to a patio in a garden-like atmosphere, and the view of the Honduran countryside from the rooftop is beautiful. I would recommend staying here if you are traveling to Tegucigalpa. It's safe, friendly, and very hospitable!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
At last - a rare hotel in the Honduran capital that gives reviewers a chance to gush. It's a triumph for good taste, both in the well-appointed guest rooms and long-stay apartments, all set in a quiet residential neighborhood.Once a spacious Tegucigalpa home, this keeps the trappings of a comfortable family residence with the trimmings needed for modern business travel. It's a beacon of class and courteous service in Tegucigalpa. Rooms in the colonial-style house have been lovingly furnished in Honduran mahogany and decorated with striking Lencan pottery and photos of the country's charms. From the Italian ceramic floor tiles up to the vaulted ceiling, it creates an ambience where you're happy to dally - unsurprisingly, there are many long-term stays. The focal point is a lush patio where lychee and mango trees shade diners taking the complementary breakfast buffet. Climb to a fourth-floor terrace for a 360-degree panorama over Tegucigalpa's sloping sprawl. ... more   less
