“Most comfortable beds EVER”

Marriott Tegucigalpa

Feb 27, 2008

Our family stayed here for a week with a group of people. We did have some check-in problems, and some in-room billing problems, which led to some check-out problems. But...I think that was because there were several parties in our group and some left at different times. The restaurant meals were delicious, the complimentary hot buffet breakfast was good and convenient, the staff was pleasant, and the beds were the most comfortable beds we have EVER slept in. We actually could not wait, after long days, to shower and find our way to the cloud-like beds. I am normally NOT a hotel-pillow fan, but even the pillows were the best. My husband liked the fitness center and was impressed with the amount of equipment. He also loved the coffee bar in the lobby where he stocked-up on coffee each morning and the kids got their watermelon, orange, and/or cantelope juice. The pool looked very clean and inviting, although we had no time to swim. We would stay here again.

“Very Good!”

I have a couple of experiences when staying in a Marriott. Everything regarding beds, furniture and other perks does not change much between them.

This Marroitt is very special, it has a great customer service, very well qualify compared to other Marriotts in USA.

Location is very good! almost beside the presidential house and between both of Tegucigalpa main bulevards. Many food and shopping areas around the area. If you plan to visit sites around the hotel, its better to take a taxi, its extremly cheap when compared to dollars.

Nice pool, spa, gym and other ameneties.

i think the hotel and the staff are great, but it is located in a place you dont want to be at night. the multiplaza was nice with good places to eat and shop. what thew me off were all the armed gaurds with machine guns in the area. it spooked me and made me feel safer at the same time. i went there to see friends in valle de angeles, a very lovely place that made me forget tegus! i rented a car and drove there. just get ready for the CRAZY honduran drivers that make new york city drivers seem polite in comparison. next time im going to stay in valle de angeles.

“Not the Marriott Service that you would expect.”

I’m a government contractor who lives in Honduras and I regularly travel throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The last several times that I visited the Tegucigalpa property, I received terrible treatment from the Marriott staff. The last time that I visited the property on October 5th, had to be the most embarrassing and frustrating moment I’ve ever experienced from a hotel. I reserved a stay online through their website two weeks in advance for a double room and I also requested an early check-in because of an early flight. I arrived at the hotel around 1:45 pm. Once I arrived, I spoke with Pamela who told me that my room wasn’t ready and she asked me if I could wait 30 minutes more. Since I was hungry, I agreed and stepped out to grab something to eat. I returned 2 hours later to check into my room; knowingly I have given the staff plenty of time for preparations. This time I spoke with Desiree and she told me that she had no more double rooms available at the time and that my companion can accompany me to a single room until another room was available. I disagreed and I explained to her that I was told that my room would be available an hour and half ago. She later told me that I could only receive a single room and a roll out bed. I disagreed again and explained to her that I reserved a double bed online with my credit card and that was what I expected. I spent an hour in the lobby in discussion with the staff about my room. I felt totally embarrassed waiting in the lobby while other guests had no problem checking into their rooms. Once I spoke with a manager, whom name is Tesa Sandival, she went as far as to asking me to come into the business center and login into my Marriott account to verify that my reservation was “guaranteed”. After showing her my reservation, she made more excuses to why I couldn’t receive my double bed. At that point, I told her to cancel the reservation in its entirety and to call the Real Intercontinental to reserve me a room and that I was on my way. Once at the Intercontinental Hotel, I was checked into my room in 10 minutes with no problems (with two complimentary beverages). Also, the Intercontinental is a much nicer property and in a very convenient location. I’ve always stayed at Marriott hotels whenever the opportunity exists. I would rather stay at a lower service hotel before I return to the Marriott in Tegucigalpa. In light of my recent troubles there, I’m reconsidering Marriott brands altogether if this is the kind of service that I can expect the Marriott to give its guests.

“Horrible”

Marriott Tegucigalpa

I have just spent a horrified night in this hotel on 9 th October 07.
I checked in around 6 PM ,Room No. 505 and within an hour I found that one person is trying to open my room door from outside. I opened the door thinking that there is some message for me but it was a person claiming that R. No. 505 belongs to him. I asked him to check at reception and after that he did not turnup.I went out for dinner around 7 PM and when I came back found that my key is not working. I called the reception and they inform me that my room is 920 and not 505, I told tham how it is possible my baggage is inside, after 30 minutes after calling reception frequently a person came to open my room and later brought the new key.
This hotel is very mismanged and unsafe.I will never recommend a buz visitor to stay there.
