The staff was extremely helpful. The place was always clean, even during construction. Breakfast was included and very satisfying. 10 minute walk to stores, mall, grocery, restaurants. They were actually building a cafe in the hotel when I left which will be an additional plus. I will definitely stay here again.

I flew into Tegucigalpa as a solo female traveller, looking for accommodation that would fit my backpacker budget, as well as provide a secure place to stay in a big and unknown city (with, let's face it, not the safest reputation).

With Gabriel's beautiful hotel, I struck gold. Immaculate, beautifully furnished, spacious dormitory with bathrooms and lockers, 24 security, attentive staff, efficient wifi, delicious breakfast included in the price, and a stunning view across Tegucigalpa, the hotel had everything I needed.

However, it was the personal touches that made this the most enjoyable overnight stay of my entire travels in Central America. Gabriel is a charming and friendly host, he made me feel like a guest in his home, and looked after me as a friend. He was generous with both his time (offering to take me to local shops so that I didn't have to take a taxi alone) and his company (his faultless English made conversation easy when my less than perfect Spanish failed). He gave advice on onward travel, offers tours of the city and his passion for developing the Honduran tourist industry is evident.

I returned to Tegucigalpa prior to my homeward flight, and there was no doubt where I would be spending my final night in Honduras.

So, in summary, this beautiful hotel will provide you with a comfortable nights sleep, in a clean and well equipped room, followed by a delicious breakfast. But most importantly, it's a safe and friendly refuge for a traveller in a large city. What more could you ask for?

My friends and I were on our way back to Santa Rosa de Copan from our Semana Santa in Nicaragua. We didn't book ahead, and we arrived in the evening after 7pm. It seemed like it was in a good neighborhood. The owners weren't there, so the guard called someone for us to speak with. He helped us with everything, and got up all settled into our 3-single-bed room with a fridge, cable TV, A/C, and a kitchen sink. It was clean and I really liked the nice soft cotton sheets. Our room did not have a view, but we didn't mind because we were only staying for one night. There is a water tank on each floor, but the guard brought two pitchers up to our room for us. Then he called a private taxi to take us out to the ATM and dinner and bring us back safely. The taxi was with us about 3 hours and we paid 12 USD. The hotel is up on hill overlooking part of the city. It was beautiful! We had to catch a bus at 5:30am the following morning, so we needed to leave the hotel at 5am. The guard called us at about 4:40am tomake sure we were up. Then when the taxi we had reserved didn't show, he called a taxi for us again. We had a wonderful time in Tegus, mostly due to the guard being so helpful. I can't say enough- that guard needs a raise for being awesome!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the city.

I stayed several times at Casa del Viajero and I feel very comfortable. Is it located at a safe location. The friendly staff makes every effort to keep you satisfied. Excellent breakfast! The rooms are spacious and clean. Good wifi signal.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at front, the view from the window to Tegus is great

This is definitely a nice place to stay in Tegus! Just some blocks from many restaurants, banks, ATMs and a shopping center. The area seemed to be pretty safe to walk. The room in which I stayed was very clean and comfortable, as the whole hostel as well. The friendly atmosphere is result of the staff's efforts to make you feel like home, in the morning preparing your breakfast in the way you would like most, or by the night offering you something to drink.
Also, the building the hotel is located in has an interesting architecture, nice decoration and interesting history, As the hotel's name suggest, you may feel hosted by a president. If you go to Tegus, try it! I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room where you can have the view of the city. By the night, you have a nice view of lights...

Set up on a swanky, exclusive hill up in the Tegucigalpa suburbs, this is a lovely place with the feel of a Spanish hacienda. We loved the large rooms, tiled bathrooms, and dining rooms. Our only concern was the time and effort it took to find the place - not very accessible.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, this is a Spanish style house built by a President of Honduras back in 1973. It has a historical value and it is quite charming. We will keep on trying to make it easier for our guests for their arrival. The best way is whenever they contact us to leave us your email so we can send a detail copy, also in our webpage is a map to get to our hostel.

Tematic Hotel focused in local culture and history. Our location is a real President House, it was built almost 40 years ago by a Honduran President who took office in 1972 and 1973. His name is Ramon Ernesto Cruz Ucles. Once he and his wife passed on, their siblings inherited the house and then put it on sale. This historical house was slightly refurbished and remodeled to provide a cozy feeling to Tegucigalpa visitors.
