“Feels like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

The San Pedro Sula Hilton feels like home away from home. Just the right size to have some space without being anonymous to the staff. Staff rapidly knew my preferences. Wonderful soft beds and pillows. Very peaceful and relaxing to just sit on the patio or swim in the pool. The concierge was available to assist in any question or issue right away. (my friend forgot underwear, and it was purchased for him within an hour!)

San Pedro Sula is a bustling place that, unfortunately, has a reputation as a high crime area. In the middle of town at the Hilton Princess, there is warmth and kindness from the staff. There is quiet and restfulness for the weary traveler.

Nice place overall. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. Very nice pool. The gym has nice equipment. And, the dining was very good. However, WiFi/Internet access on the side of the hotel facing the street is very poor. In fact, WiFi/Internet is unusable on the street side of the hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I recently came back from a mission trip to Honduras. We had one night to spend (last minute) in San Pedro Sula and was looking for a safe and nice hotel. There weren't a lot of choices. This hotel was recommended by my Amex Platinum Travel Agent and was told it received 4 stars and appeared safe. We went for it and was happy that we did.
Location: It is located in downtown about 20-30 mins from airport. Located a couple of blocks from a shopping mall and near restaurants.
Hotel/checkin: Didn't look like much from the outside, but the lobby was tastefully decorated. There was a bellman right there to help with luggage. Checkin was fast and the receptionist spoke pretty good english. There were 6 of us and she recommended staying the the executive lounge ($40 upgrade) so we could get connecting rooms and benefit from free wifi and breakfast. Initially I had declined thinking that the breakfast was a continental one, but she reassured me that it was a full breakfast (just missing the omelette station). So I went for it and was glad that I did. There was only 1 elevator that was working and it took a while. Fortunately our rooms were on the 6 floor and the lounge was on the 5th.
Room: Had an older decor but was in decent shape. Extremely hot when we first entered, but once AC was on, it was great. The king room had a sofa (not pullout) that worked well for my boy. Beds were soft and relatively comfy. Bathroom was nice and water pressure was decent. The water was not terribly hot but felt great after the mission trip. Never touched the mini bar. Decent amount of outlets to charge things. Luggage arrived quickly.
Amenities: The lounge was really nice. It had a small fridge stocked with sodas and water. Not terribly cold but decent. There were nuts and other items to munch on. Best thing was the baked goods. There were these pound cake muffins that were awesome. I had a fresh one and cold have probably eaten a dozen. In the evening, there were some appetizers and cheese and a full liquor bar option. The breakfast was nice we a good selection of hot and cold items. There was an attendant there to help with your needs and coffee. We worth the extra $40 if you have more than 1 person staying. The pool was nice and clean. No jacuzzi though. The restaurant appeared decent but we did not try. We utilized their airport shuttle service ($11 per person) that left every hour. We got to the airport in 30 mins
All in all, we were satisfied with our stay. I have not other hotels (in honduras) to compare to. So thus I feel the 4 rating was justified at this time.
