“small hotel, like staying in a house”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

This is small house-like hotel in San Pedro Sula. At night the area is a little abandoned and not much going on. For the price and comfort, it is an ok place.

We stayed for one night and were not overly impressed.

First the pros - the guy who was behind the desk was very helpful and even ordered our pizza for us. The room was adequate but you could hear the TV from the reception through the walls.

The cons - the girl behind the front desk in the morning wasnt very helpful. We eventually got her to order us a taxi. She then led us into this little room that appeared to be where breakfast was served. There was cereal but no milk. Two slices of bread but no butter and half a jug of luke warm coffee. There was nothing else. We ate dry cereal and had one slice of bread each. This was 8.15 in the morning so it's not like we got there late. We went back to reception and asked for milk and butter - the receptionist walked into the cupboard and brought out some jam.

I would not recommend staying here.

We arrived at 0200hrs to a warm friendly welcome. The room was spacious, clean with ensuite. Self service breakfast with local quisine choices. Michelle gave us a lot of information about local attractions but unfortunately we were only spending a day in Honduras...must go back!

I have been to San Pedro over six times and stayed at some really upscale hotels but thank God he found this one for us..All I can say is that its an upscale hotel but quaint and private. The location is great, we r talking minutes from two major malls and shopping, movies and of course food, all the franchises I l. ov and other great eateries ( me being from a big city). It's affordable but mostly SAFE (security around the clock)!!! Special Thanks to the staff and Michelle (Manager) who made our stay a cherished memory and taught me some more Spanish, lol..

We stayed in the Hotel Boutique on both our first and last nights in Honduras. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were very nice and the breakfast was good (although I did miss the fruit that was always part of the breakfast meal in Copan Ruinas). The hotel is an an excellent location: a safe section of the city and in walking distance of the arts and crafts market and numerous restaurants. There is also a major super market almost next door to the hotel. In addition to all of the above, Michelle, the hotel manager (not sure if that is the title of her positon) speaks perfect English, has a wealth of information and is willing to help guests with travel arrangements and city tips. When we return, we will be staying in the Hotel Boutique.

After reading some great reviews and not being able to stay at my first choice in San Pedro Sula we decided upon Hotel San Juan.
We received some very helpful assistance and advise while booking our trip via email and they organized the pickup from the hotel which I recommend.
At check in we weren't informed of much as the receptionist didn't seem to speak much English. We were thirsty and had trouble organizing some water. Eventually we were shown a restaurant down the road only to find out it was closed, eventually coming back to the hotel we were offered a glass of water. They should at least have bottled water, especially since the tap water isn't safe to drink.
The room itself was small, had a very bad smell and didn't look clean.
The pillows had a plastic lining below the covers which wasn't very comfortable.
There was no safe and we only had 1 hanger to hang our clothing on. When trying to get additional hangers the receptionist didn't seem to interested in helping, and at first insisted there were no more hangers, although he eventually found some!
Even though the room was only around $60 I expect a lot more for this.
Despite a poor nights sleep, the breakfast was surprisingly delicious!

Very simple room. Good service, hot water, internet, clean good breakfast, free purified water. Only one towel not to excited about that. We flew in late at night and the night guard walked us down the street to a great local spot to eat. At the price of $50 it was a bit expensive for this very simple room. We tried to arrange a pick up from the airport they quoted $40 per person. At the airport taxis were $15 to for two. The owner tried to help us plan our trip but knew less than we did about sites to see.
