i stayed there a while back in june. i am going back there this month of jan. 08.
service was very friendly. THEY DO NOT HAVE A ROOM SAFE!@!! make no mistake about it. also, they do not have any scuba diving. there site is misleading like that. they advertise it, when you get there they tell you there is a agencey in town that can arrange something for a small fee. they charge you more because you are a foriegner. there lock safe is with the management. they give you a key and they keep one of them. i did not like that. although nothing happened. they stand over you while you are in there. they pretty much watch you with what you put in there. other then the guy calling me @ 8am telling me he loved me after a night out at the clubs, the hotel was great. computers, samll gift shop, on the beach, pool, bar at the pool, and the bar there as you walk out of it is real cool as well. and its near all the fun places there in ceibe

In 12/2007, my wife and I stayed in a room on the eastern end of the hotel (away from the late night bar across the street). Not only was the room quiet, but it was very nice (clean and everything worked), with a balcony overlooking their very pretty pool and the Gulf of Mexico. The Quinta Real is a fairly new facility on the downtown beachfront. The restaurant was decent, and the staff were very courteous and helpful. Quite importantly, the hotel was very reasonably priced at $110 p/night. Additionaly, the hotel is located close enough to be able to walk to all downtown places, or to take one of the many taxis for $1. Unfortunately, the hotel did not have a website for a direct booking, so I had to use a travel agent. I absolutely would return to this hotel if visiting La Ceiba

  • Liked — large, clean room with balcony overlooking the pool and the Gulf of Mexico
  • Disliked — not many tourists

Got two rooms for my family..asked to see their best rooms before we agreed to stay there. Their nicest suite was beautiful with fabulous view...two balconies overlooking the pool and beach. The best suite in the hotel only cost around $160..expensive by Honduran standards, a steal compared to Acapulco or Hawaii ...would have cost over $400 in most parts of the world. Pool was like the Ritz Carlton...restaurant also quite good. Right in town...close to everything. The regular rooms would be priced like a Holiday Inn in Omaha, and not be quite as nice as a Holiday Inn in Omaha; but still ok by US standards Lobby staff very friendly....they let us have some Honduran friends swim with us in the perfect pool. Beach has sand fleas, so staying by the pool was nicer. Not crowded and lovely. Everything in the room worked.

  • Liked — beautiful pool and suite
  • Disliked — hallways hot...computers didn't work well...poor exercise machines

I stayed at the hotel in June 2007 and found the front desk to be very rude. I was traveling with my family and needed 3 rooms, when we asked if we could get a discount on the rooms because of the amount of rooms we needed, they flat out declined, and were not open to discuss the issue. One of the people in our group had a camera stolen and when we aproached the front desk, they ignored us. Finally
after we got her attention she did not seem interested. We approached
the front desk at a later time to see if they had heard anything about the camera and the girl was not even aware that our camera was missing. No one ever gave a notice to staff about the camera. When we asked to speak to the manager, he or she would not even come out of his small room at the front desk.

They were not hospitable or attentive. Seemed to have a big attitude.
Will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. Next time I'll try Palma Real or Pico Bonito. I run a business and know how important good service is. The management at this hotel obviously does not.-Miami, FL

We stayed at this hotel March 17 and 18, and the service we received was absolutely unparalleled! We will definitely stay here again next time we come to La Ceiba. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were constantly going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Our room was very nice, comfortable, and very clean. I highly recommend getting a pina colada made "fresca" at the bar by the pool. It is outstanding!
The DELICIOUS breakfast each morning (included in the price you pay for the room) in the restaurant was buffet style. They have typical Honduran breakfast (beans, cheese, platanos, mantequilla, huevos rancheros, fresh papaya, watermelon, and pineapple), and some "North American" offerings as well (cereal and milk, fried eggs, toast, jelly, butter). They had fresh squeezed juice and cafe con leche. Our waiter made sure my cup was never empty, and I drink my 4 cups of cafe con leche in the mornings very fast!
We took a boat to Roatan, and the hotel staff made sure we had taxi service there and back. When the driver picked us up to come back, he was in a recent model minivan that was solely for the use of hotel guests, which was in impeccable condition!
The interior and exterior of the hotel is absolutely beautiful and very well-kept. (I tried to uploaded some fotos, but apparently they exceed the size this website allows).
I highly recommend this hotel...I already have to all my traveling friends and family!

  • Liked — Beautifully well-kept exterior and interior, very friendly and accommodating staff
  • Disliked — The only complaint I can think of is that the wireless internet was down while we were there
