“Fantastic hostel, amazing breakfast!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is such a fantastic place to stay. The manager is super friendly and helpful, and they organise great trips to the local areas. When we stayed the ruins were closed for a couple of days, but there was plenty to keep us occupied in Copan so it didn't bother us at all. We visited the hot springs with the hostel and had a lovely time.

The manager is an amazing chef - we've been travelling for nearly 4 months and these were the best breakfasts we've had. The lovely manager even came in early to knock some brekkie up for us before our early morning bus which was really kind. They also helped us change our Guatemalan Quetzales which was really handy.

Overall a fantastic, clean, friendly hostel with free coffee throughout the day, a kitchen area, great day trips and a perfect location. We'd definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We had a double private which was large, had an ensuite and a tv, and breakfast was included

This is an exceptional place to stay; it is located right in the centre of town, they organise wonderful day trips to great places for very reasonable rates and best of all the crowd of people at this place are exactly the kind of people that you would want to meet.

This will be a the home from home that you have been longing for.

I slept on a hammock so if you have limited funds or like me a preference to sleeping in hammocks then you have this option here. They also have dorms, and double rooms. There is an area on the terrace to make food or just relax in any of the number of places around the terrace; which is huge and like a wonderful out living room.

You maybe able to arrange for them to pick you up from the border or meet you in town if you need help finding the place. They are soooo friendly and happy to help you have the best time possible.

I had a wonderful time at Hostal Berakah. I stayed there for a week, mostly relaxing, and it was the perfect place to do it. The owner and staff were so friendly and accommodating, the communal area comfortable, great working internet, nice view of the surrounding mountains (especially when it's raining - such a great place to sit and watch it all happening outside).

I stayed in a hammock on the first night which was okay... comfortable enough and not too cold. The rest of my time i was in a dorm room which was brilliant. The beds are super comfortable, huge lockers that can fit your entire big backpack and more. I dont travel light, but was able to fit everything in the locker.. not that I felt i needed it as everybody there seems so trustworthy, but you never know. Also the owner makes some fantastic breakfasts which I highly recommend you get a taste of.

I also went on a tour to the hot springs which was amazing. We relaxed in hot pools for a few hours, then stopped on the way back for an organic dinner which was unbelievable - some of the best food I've had anywhere. I highly recommend this daytrip.

Room Tip: I think they're all pretty good. Only stayed in the dorm closest to the communal area, which was...

We actually switched to Hotel Berakah from Hotel Mar Jenny. We liked Hotel Mar Jenny enough, but it wasn't really the place for us. So, my wife and I headed over to stay in the dorms at Berakah.

The rooms are very clean, and there are lockers for everyone. The balcony is the highlight of the place. There are plenty of hammocks to go around. There are bar stools overlooking the street, and the views in the morning are amazing.

There is a little cocina that you can use to cook up a small meal, although the food in Copan Ruinas is surprisingly very affordable (especially the strip of street food just off the park).

There is legit high speed internet that is available in all of the common areas. Plus, locally sourced coffee is available throughout the day.

It's the perfect low-budget, high-quality place.

I stayed at this place for a few days and found the Dorm room bed was comfy and clean. The terrace was a great place to chill out. The only downside was that the top bunks get really hot as there is no fan close by. The rooms have security lockers big enough to put all your stuff in.

Room Tip: Don´t stay on the top bunk, it´s far too hot!

Stayed 3 nights in a private with bathroom for $25pn. Central location and very helpful staff. Balcony upstairs with hammocks, free coffee and microwave etc. A nice relaxed feel about it and a nice spot to chill after you have seen the sights of CR. Free wifi throughout. Has the usual hostel noise depending on the crowd in on the night but a good overall option in CR. Water was hot enough. Free breakfast included.
