“Best Dive Shop on Utila”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

This familyy owned business knows customer service. They strive to keep the dive group sizes small to prevent boat crowding and provide individual attantion. My daughter is a junior diver and they made her feel comfortable and safe at all times. Chris was an amazing divemaster and went out of his way to provide education, safety, and comfort tips. All of our dives with him were calm and relaxing not to mention beautiful and educational. I will definately be back to Utila and would never consider using another dive shop. It was just out the back door of the resort. Thanks for cleaning, caring for, and storing our equipment. My best dive shop experience to date and have been diving 20 years. Miss you guys already!

“Personalized instruction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

I got my open water certification here. I was very happy with the attention I received here. I was only one of three people in my dive class. The instructors and owners were all very positive, nice, and safety-oriented people. They make you feel like you're on vacation. I loved all the dives on which we went. We saw squid, garden eels, striped cleaning shrimp, and an eagle ray.

“Best snorkel spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

The sign at the dock bar says there is a fee if you aren't a costumer, don't let that scare you off. We went 4 times in a week, bar was only open once. Lots of space to leave your stuff. There are steps down to the water, then big rock steps in the water, and you are off to the reef. Many finger out lets to see tons of fish. They have dive classes from here too, so may see some bubbles where they are way down off the ledge of the reef. Has a top dock over the bar where you can take a drink, sit in a chair and enjoy the sun when the bar is open.

“Couldn't find a better dive shop!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Our family (two adults and one 15 year old) chose Coral View to take our PADI Open Water certification course and were amazed at the level and quality of service we received! To start off with, Sarah (manning the front office) was very patient in answering many emails prior to our arrival and did so with lightening quick speed. She even arranged for snorkeling gear to be delivered to the house we were staying at down the road since we arrived on Christmas Eve when they were closed! Coral View is very well organized, runs a very smooth operation, and is totally committed to their customers.

Chris was our instructor and ran an excellent class. For each segment of the theory part of the course, we would watch a video while filling out a questionnaire hitting on the key points and then when the video was complete, he'd go over the questionnaire with us ensuring we understood the material. Then, we'd take a quiz for that segment (results don't count for anything) and we'd talk through any questions that anyone got wrong. This lead to a thorough understanding of the material and made the final exam a breeze to pass. Chris taught in a manner that lead to an easy understanding of everything we needed to know.

The pool sessions were great and the small class size (just us) made it easy to learn the correct techniques so that when we hit the open water on the boat, everything was a breeze. We received our certification and dove several more times with Coral View before our trip ended. Unlike other dive shops, Coral View doesn't cram as many people as they can onto their boats. On one of our extra post-certification dives we got our own divemaster even though there was another group of 5 on the boat with another divemaster. On our last day we had the boat, a divemaster, and the boat captain all to ourselves! All the divemasters are great and Bel was especially good at finding all the amazing small critters in the water.

Coral View is situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main town in a quiet area with probably the best access to the reef on the entire island! They have a long pier that extends out to the reef where you can step down into the water to shore dive or snorkel. There's even a bar right there for refreshments afterwards. Shore dives are very cheap ($20 when we were there) and that includes all equipment rental. Our seventh dive was a solo dive by ourselves (no training wheels)! There's also the Coral View Beach Resort between the pier and the dive shop that has affordable accommodations and an excellent restaurant.

We will be diving at Coral View during all future trips to Utila and will hopefully be back very soon to get Advanced Open Water certified.

“A Dive Center for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

We are so grateful to have found Coral View. We're a challenging group with a professional diver, open water divers, and two teenagers just trying it out. Coral View met our every need with ease. We were lucky enough to have Chris and Eric to ourselves every day which added to the relaxed pace they encourage with their more civilized morning departure time of 8:30. Chris is ever so patient and encouraging. Our kids, who are quite cautious and were a bit apprehensive about diving, followed Chris's instructions in the calm salt water pool and then headed out to the reef right out in front - a real plus on Utila! Both are now hooked - having gone diving on Roatan and are asking about our next dive trip. Success! We can't say enough about how warm, welcoming and friendly everyone is. We had a great time!
