Driftwood Cafe has the best food on Utila, hands down, and the prices are fabulous for the quality of preparation. Like so many eateries on the island, it's very unassuming from the road and only has a small sign. The menu is a whiteboard on the wall and the fish soup is much admired. I haven't yet tried that, but on this trip had the catch of the day with the garlic sauce, while my husband enjoyed the fish of the day grilled. I can't imagine NOT getting the garlic sauce though - it is divine - and the fish was cooked to perfection. It is quite a walk from the east end of the island, so we made an afternoon of it and went all the way down to blue bayou to do some sunset/evening snorkeling, walked back to Driftwood for dinner, and then caught one of the local "tuk tuk" taxis home. We HIGHLY recommend at least one trip to Driftwood while you're on Utila!
