“Expensive but Good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2011

The food here was good, but one of the more expensive places on the island. Worth it, if you don´t mind the walk either.

“This is the best restaurant on Utila!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2011

I loved the seafood stew - it is the best I've ever had! I've been back to have this specifically several times. This is one of the best restaurants on Utila. I've been visiting the island for many years and this is a favortie. Their quality and freshness is outstanding. The portions are huge (big enough for two to split) and everything I have ever had on the menu has been great. I love the chicken fingers too. The service is outstanding, way above what most other places on the island have to offer.

They also have one of the best bloody mary's I have ever had - ask for it spicey!

Best atmosphere of any place on the island. The view is spectacular! You are sitting right over the ocean. You can also go swimming right out from the restaurant - they have a sun-tanning platform!

“Live Music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2011

I've been to the Driftwood Cafe numerous times (mostly in the afternoons sitting on the patio, catching the ocean breeze and having a great seafood lunch), but several Saturday nights ago I happened upon live, Latino acoustic music at the Driftwood. It was a great atmosphere, having a cocktail with friends, enjoying the sounds of the island and shakin' the booty to live music. I'll be back!

“Favorite Spot on the Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2011

Driftwood is one of a kind in taste and character. No where else in the world can you swim with blowfish and seahorses under the dock while catching whiffs of smoked Sunday brisket in the sea air. With the owners always there, they make sure their love of great food is passed on to each and every plate.

Whether you go back once a week or once a year, the family-like staff recognize you as a regular and treat you like one as well. If you get there on the right days, at the right time, its highly likely that you'll get pulled into a various game of Farkle, cards, or horseshoes as soft country plays in the background and the sun sets over the blue harbor.

“best food with the best atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2011

Spent 3 weeks in Utila with my fiancée so we had plenty of time to try out the various dining options on the island and driftwood was by far our favorite place to go. The “brothers” who run the place are a couple of the nicest folks in town – whether its telling you about the history of the island or mixing up the perfect margarita they are always down for a laugh. Can’t wait for our next trip down!
