“This place is amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

We had a great time in this gorgeous tropical paradise! They sent a driver to get us. (We were a bit confused as to where to go once we got off the ship. As you come through go left - not to Mahogany Beach. You'll see people standing under the awning lining up for excursions to meet their driver but you must walk up and over the hill to your left. You'll walk a ways but you'll eventually see a long line of drivers. They'll be there). Our driver was so kind and informative. My husband wants to go back and hunt iguanas with him. :-)

LFK was so beautiful. There were chairs in and out of the water for you. We kayaked around a couple of islands. Then went back for lunch then snorkeling. We were the only 2 going out so we had a private excursion. We loved the reef and our guide was so patient with me as I tried to get the hang of it again. He even swam back to the boat for my life jacket. He took us to see lobsters and we did. Nice!

The meal was good with a portion of several meats. I'm a big fan of those yucca chips. First time for those. Everything was so nice and beautiful and the owners were especially kind and accommodating. I highly recommend LFK to anyone wanting a relaxing day in paradise. Thanks for a great time!

“Paradise Found”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

If someone ask me to describe "Paradise" in three words, I would simply say........"Little French Key". My family spent April 17, 2013 on the island and were continually amazed at the beauty of the Key and the hospility of the owners. The entire experience was excellent from relaxation at the beaches, the private zoo, snorkling in the cove to the food and bar. We could not believe the friendliness of the staff and owners as they shared the history of building this paradise and how special it was to them. We are already planning another visit to Roatan with "Little French Key" as the primary purpose and daily destination. Yep, we finally found "Paradise". The Bakers & Johnsons, Birmingham, AL.

“Great place for a family to spend the day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

My wife had discovered Little French Key here on tripadvisor prior to leaving on our cruise over spring break this year (2013). We had been to Roatan twice before and had visited the West End beaches. This time we wanted to do something different, primarily because of the crowds on the West End. We took a chance and decided to try Little French Key. I booked the reservation on-line prior to leaving for our vacation. They required no deposit. I took this as a good thing, assuming that they must be pretty confident about the quality of their resort. We arrived in port the morning of our visit. We had to walk outside the port area to meet their representative. There were 10 in our party (Grandparents, Adults, Teens, and a child). The driver was there waiting for us. Van was air conditioned and the driver was very nice. Took about 15-20 mins to get to the location. We paid our admission fee, which included several drink tickets and lunch, and waited about 5 mins for a ferry to arrive. Took about 2-3 mins to get to the island. The island was very nice, much better than described and much prettier than the online pictures. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure you were having a good time. Like I said, we were there during spring break, but the island did not feel crowded at all. I would estimate that there were maybe 100-150 visitors the day we were there. It was totally different than the beach scene at the West End. My brother-in-law and I went snorkeling and found several really nice conch shells. The kids really enjoyed the diving platform. The beach area was very nice and well kept. The lunch that was included with admission was great (lobster/steak/chicken/rice). They small zoo they maintain was also very interesting. Bathrooms were clean and they had fresh water showers outdoors for getting the salt water off of you. Drink prices were in line with other resorts and they were able to mix whatever you wanted. Overall this was a great experience. We'll definitely return. I know a lot of these reviews are written by competitors, so you have to read all of them to determine what the general concensus is. We've traveled quite a bit and have been to lots of resorts. Little French Key really stands out.

“Amazing time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

My wife and I went here when we stopped in Honduras on our cruise. The day started out kind of blah because it was cloudy, but we weren't going to let that deter us from having a good time. A bus picked us up and it was about a 15-20 minute drive to a place where you pay and then hop on a little barge to go to the island. Just a warning, the people drive crazy over there, so buckle up, and get ready for the ride of your life.

We took the barge to the island, which took about 3 minutes to get to. You can see the island from where you are leaving from. When we got there we were given a tour of the island. It was so cool. They had all these different birds and monkeys and even two 6 week old baby jaguars. You could hold the monkeys and we got to play with the jaguars. We had to pay like $15 to play with the jaguars, but it was well worth it.

Finally, the clouds went away and we soaked up some sun. They have snorkeling, kayaks, and all sorts of lounging areas. You get two free drinks with you excursion, but then you pay for the rest. I think the beers were around $4-5, pretty typical. They also have a covered boat dock that the top part has chairs and stuff to sit on. It is about 12 feet above the water and you can jump into the water. That was sooooo much fun. I must have done that about 6 times.

When it came time for lunch, they grill each person half a lobster tail, some filet, chicken, shrimp, Yucatan chips (or something along those lines), fresh salsa, and some type of Honduran coleslaw. The food was really good. We had to leave pretty early to make it back to the ship in time, but we sure didn’t want to leave. One thing I would say is bring some type of snack because we didn't eat until around 12 or 1 PM so we were pretty hungry by that time.

We want to know if we can stay on the island for a week next vacation. The people who run it are very nice and we had a great time. When we go back to Honduras, we will definitely go back to Little French Key.
