“Tikal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

A visit to Tikal is a spiritual and surreal experience. Expect a lot of walking and bring your camera, bug lotion and bottles of water in your bag. I would recommend planning a couple of hours to explore the entire area. There are jaguar notices on the jungle trails and I have to say that I was pretty happy not to have had that experience.... stick to the populated areas.

“a great view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Tikal in general is a wonderous place and one of the must see places in Guatemala. If at Tikal for sunset, temple IV is the best place to be, but you will have to bribe the guard to go around the back of the temple to the west facing side. If you're there around sunset its worth the 20 quetzales, but if you're too early for sunset, there isn't much of anything to see in that direction.

“Sunrise Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

This is the tallest temple at Tikal and faces east across the site. From the top, you can see Temple 3,2, and 1, as well as the Lost World. You can also hear tons of wild life, including exotic birds and howling monkeys. The sunrise tour starts here where you sit on the temple steps to watch the sunrise. Really a must do.

“A must see attraction”

We were there with a tour company from Belize and had a great time! The view is amazing and the setting of the temple is pictoresque!
