“Slow yet friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

I went to Sabor de la India with a fairly large group, and they were able to serve us right away. They were pretty slow getting to our order. The food took about 45 minutes to get to us, but they warned us about this on the menu and in person due to the size of our group. The food was pretty good. When we tried to leave after paying, it ends up that one member of our group had forgotten to pay for a bottle of water and we couldn't figure out who it was. When the waiter saw that we were legitimately trying to figure it out and scrape together enough to pay for it, he said that we shouldn't worry about it and let us go. It was very nice.

“good food and prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

The vegetable Samosas were very nice, the sauce had a good flavor though I noted that they used local chile as apposed to Indian chile, this added a different flavor, though still very good.
the chai tea was ok, the service was friendly, and I was happy that they double checked to make sure my food would not have MSG in it.

I will further my review with the next visit.

“Good indian food and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

I ate a vegetarian curry and was very pleased with both the quakity and the quantity of the food. Also, our waiter was very nice, smiling and helpful. The only drawback for me was that the dish was not at all spicy, and I specifically asked if it was. Nonetheless, definitely one of the best places to eat in Xela.

“Great Indian Cuisine in Unexpected Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Sabor de la India gets crowded for a good reason. It is about as good an Indian restaurant as we've found anywhere. There are some adaptations to Guatemalan taste and they work really well since so many of the spices used are the same. Service is efficient and unobtrusivel. Atmosphere is very pleasant.
