We have stayed twice at the Crowne Plaza, once in October and once in December. Our suite was MUCH cheaper than the Westin and IMMACULATE. We were traveling with our son and soon to be adopted daughter, and their socks were filthy black after 5 minutes of playing in our room at the Westin but never even showed dirt at the Crowne. The suite is HUGE, there is a nice little kitchenette for snacks, drinks, etc. Great if you want to order pizza or pick up dinner and bring it back. Lots of space for playing.

The pool was fine for the kids but is a little on the small side. Huge breakfast buffet is included and is excellent, we ran into American expats on the weekends who walk there to go out for breakfast. Otherwise the restaurant menu is ok, nothing fancy.

There is a Burger King with a large indoor playground adjacent to the Crowne's parking lot, and a Pollo Campero (fried chicken similar to KFC) on the other side of the hotel. There is also a market nearby (1-2 blocks) for picking up snacks, drinks, food and toiletries very inexpensively.

Convenient to airport, but I haven't seen a hotel in Guat City that isn't......

Overall, I would highly recommend if you are travelling for adoption. At this time adoptive parents are recommended not to leave hotel premises with the adoptive child (until adoption is final), so having the huge amount of space in the room is awesome. The Westin for our purposes was awful, tiny room, no room to play, filthy floor, extremely expensive breakfast. Downside to the Crowne is that there is not much to do in the neighborhood, the hotels in Zona Viva are in much nicer nieghborhood with good restaurants. But if you are adopting and stuck in the hotel, I'd go for the Crowne anyday!

Located right by the airport, this hotel was baaad [--]. Electronic key access everywhere, a little casino in the lobby, and a real amazing gym at the top with great views. We stayed in a twin room but the room was a good size and comfortable. The hotel had a shuttle service every 30 minutes throughout most of the day so there's no worries of getting to the airport and back. Most of the staff speaks English so that's good too. Over all it's real nice and I reccomend it to anyone staying in Guate City.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was awful overall. The front desk staff was very cold, rude and unhelpful. They left me waiting at the front desk for almost 20 minutes while two of the staff were on the phone laughing and joking. Then when I needed to exchange money they only offered to exchange $50 for me, although I needed to exchange $100. There were lots of flies in the restaurant--downright lack of hygiene. Although the buffet was good, the food had a look of agedness to it. To top it off, I had already paid for the hotel through Orbitz.com and the hotel charged me twice again for the one-night stay and getting that solved has been incredibly painful. However, the restaurant staff was very friendly unlike their front desk counterparts. The rooom I stayed in had 2 beds but it was very small although the view was beautiful. Overall, I'd recommend staying at the Holiday Inn instead of this awful hotel.

Negatives: Hotel airport shuttle never showed up to pick my husband and I up at the airport (we called them twice to confirm our flight arrival).
Very unhelpful and cold front desk staff.
Aging hotel with dated fixtures and furnishings.
Small/slow elevators
Traffic noise was terrible.....we were on the 4th floor and could hear everything from the street.
We ate in their restaurant for the breakfast buffet (which was included in the price of the hotel stay)....dirty! Dirty plates and utensils. Food wasn't very good either.
Positives:
Very comfortable bed and pillows
Clean and what looked like new carpeting in the room.
Good location: supermarket 2 doors down, airport about a mile away, shops, restaurants.
Doubtful we'll stay here again.
