“Good hotel in a great area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

I chose this hotel at the end of an Intrepid travel dotted with bad hotels. And what a difference.... Of course it costs more but I wouldn't define it expensive by Western standards. It's small and cosy with rooms around a lovely garden. Rooms are large and comfortable the bathroom is well equipped. The location is good in one of the nicest areas of the city full of hotels and restaurants and close to the two best museums. The taxi to the airport is included and so is breakfast which is not very rich but acceptable.

This hotel is located in the heart of Zone 10 - best area of the City. The entrance is not obvious and easy to find but it is a wonderful surprise when you enter. The contemporary building has a lush, private courtyard with outdoor seating. All the common spaces (restaurant, business center, lobby, etc, face the courtyard. The rooms are located on two levels. There are very nice restaurants in the area, a short walk from the hotel. One curious thing for me was that sidewalks in Zone 10 are paved with green granite (very impressive for a person coming from a country where granite is used for counters and appointments in the house).
The hotel serves complementary breakfast a buffet of fresh fruit and other continental type foods with an a la carte choice of eggs, coffee (latte, cappuccino, etc). First coffee is complementary but if you wish to have another cup, it is extra. There is also free WiFi throughout the hotel.
I initially stayed in room 9 (ground level near the common spaces). The room felt tired but spacious (room 10 is supposedly much smaller). I was awake around 6 am the next morning because I heard staff walking around. I asked to be moved to another room and was offered room 12, just upstairs from #9. It felt much more spacious with more windows although it actually has not differed. The room had a small private balcony overlooking treetops and lanterns that were shaped like small birdhouses - a great touch and view in the evening.
Each room has a walk-in closet with shelves, drawers, and clothes hangers. There is also a safe (big enough to fit your laptop), ironing board and an iron.
Overall, a very comfortable space. One comment is that the two drawers in the dressing space smelled of mildew when opened so I could not use them.
The bathroom is comfortably equipped with large walk-in shower and toiletries.
The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying there!

Room Tip: Rooms near the front desk on the ground level could be noisy. I'd recommend staying upstairs.

Stayed at La Inmaculada last week for the first time. It is a chic and stylish oasis. Very comfortable and well-appointed rooms. The L'Occitane bath products are deluxe. All their staff--from the receptionist who graciously accommodated our postponed reservation due to illness, to the guard out front who watched our car because, right then the key wouldn't come out of the ignition--- are polite, helpful and friendly. The decorations are just stunning. Menu is not extensive but I suppose the reason is that they are near so many great restaurants.

The trip was for business and pleasure. We will return, and, although I live in this country, no, I do not know the owner of this hotel--yet.

Room Tip: As a couple, we found room two a bit cramped, so moved to Suite 14, a very fair increase in price.

We spent 10 days in Guatemala, passing through Guatemala City three times, staying at the Inmaculada each time. It is a lovely hotel with a friendly and helpful staff speaking decent English. The rooms, while not large, are very comfortable -- really up to North American standards. The breakfast, which was included, was very tasty and the food plentiful. The waiter, Luis, is a gem. The hotel staff helped us arrange transportation for a number of trips we took outside of Guatemala City, and the free transportation to and from the airport was helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. While Guatemala City is not much to write home about, the Inmaculada helped make our time there very pleasant.

My last couple of hotel stays in Guatemala City have not been that great (you can read my reviews) so my experience at La Inmaculada felt exceptional. The hotel is small but has nice decor, comfortable beds, beautiful gardens, freindly and efficient staff and the room amenities are much better than most of the places I´ve stayed in Guatemala City. Wifi worked great and the breakfast was outstanding. One of the two nights at Inmaculada I had room service and the food was superb. Overall I would definately stay here again.
The only cons I can think of is parking space and access to the hotel when it is late at nigh, otherwise all other aspects are fine.

This hotel is well located, near the airport (we had a 5am flight), and near a number of great restaurants and the Oakland Mall. Comfortable room with stylish fittings, great pressure and hot water in the bathroom. Service at check in and check out was stellar. The restaurant was just okay, my wife had a steak which she loved and I had a 4oz Angus burger which was more like 4oz of cardboard. I also had a salad which seemed to made with tinned olives and tinned peaches - really average. After several days of traveling - you eat it anyway. We had a great bottle of wine which made up for the average burger and salad.

I have to mention the coffee - what a great cup of coffee. Even better when prepared and waiting for you just before your 3:30am departure from the hotel.

When in Guatemala City again, this will definitely be my home, I'll just opt to eat out.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 12 which was upstairs and really private.

Spending two days in Guatemala City, it turned out an excellent choice for its location, friendly and helpful staff as well as some appreciated complementary services, such as airport pick-up and special coffee.

Room Tip: Room 14 - upstairs and spacious
