“Luxury Penthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

I reserved because it was $62.00 night. Not your average hotel. This is apartment suites located in a gated private community. The ladies in reception office is very nice & will call Taxi's for you. The rooms are spacious with marble floors & full kitchen, large bathroom & panoramic views of the city. The hotel is spotless & has elevator. There is no restaurant & no breakfast. Within short walking distance outside the gate (too the right) is very good
Tapas & Cana, Skillets, Burger King, walk to left is very good chinese restaurant (HUGE portion size). Taxi's will not stop for you on that road. Only negative is NO A/C... I stayed in Sept & temps were in 60 - 70's raining & still muggy in room. No way would I stay here during summer. They need to install A/C in each room period. Penthouse suite for Motel 6 price.

I was impressed by this hotel, the rooms are small apartments with everything you need. It has a full kitchen with every accessory you can imagine. The bed is great, the sleep even better! No restaurant on this hotel but plenty of restaurants within minutes. The rooms are clean, cozy and did go beyond my expectations. The Asian like gardens are incredible are relaxing. Ideal for business people or couples.

Room Tip: Either go grocery shopping or ask about restaurants in the area.

This was booked by a colleague for a business trip to the city. We arrived into the gated area where the hotel is situated without any difficulty whatsoever. The hotel is of a good standard for this type of accommodation, we had rooms on the 5th floor. Small well equipped kitchen area, large bed and reasonable bathroom. No air-conditioning but not a problem for our stay. The city noises can intrude so I would suggest ear plugs if this may bother you. Each room has filter coffee makers with coffee available at the reception office, where there is a limited choice of cold drinks to purchase. The Spanish speaking staff will order take away food to be delivered for you and there's a limited number of food outlets on the main road nearby to eat out. Rooms are serviced each day. The gardens reflect the oriental name perfectly although the paths and steps are steep as the hotel is built on the side of a deep valley. Working with lap tops in the garden to write reports one day was a real pleasure. Guatemala is considered a dangerous city, so care travelling around is the order but we saw nothing to concern us during our stay but that could lull anyone into careless action. Listen to locals advice and follow it at all times.

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear building are quieter as they overlook the valley and having/using ear plugs is a g...
