“Odd little place, but close to the airport.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This place was definitely safe - which is a big plus in Guatemala City. It is also VERY convenient to the airport. Literally, a two minute taxi ride. The hotel arranged our transport to the airport in a taxi, very early in the morning for free. The hotel is very safe, in a gated area, behind another gate and razor wire. There is also a bar and some limited food options available - it was late and we got what amounted to a bologna sandwhich on white bread. Not really restaurant fare, but it sustained us. On the other hand, the room was quite poor. Three hard beds crammed in a small space with dirty walls. The windows were open with no screens and the bathroom "window" was just an open hole in the concrete wall! Not cool. Therefore, the room was buzzing with mosquitos which happily munched us all night. If you covered yourself with a sheet to get some relief, it became quite hot as there was no air circulation in the room: no fan, no a/c. There was also no hot water and my early shower was unpleasant to say the least. Very convenient and safe, but uncomfortable. If I went back, I would pick someplace else.

As my stay was longer than anticipated in Guatemala City I was sent to Casa Blanca by another nearby hotel that was without any vacancy the extra days I was required to stay. I was pleased with very close location(around the corner from the airport), the rooms were large, beds were comfy, the windows had screens to prevent bugs and mosquitoes, showers were hot, and the entire place was clean. Also included in the very large layout was a full bar, a couple roomy places to relax outside of my room, a nice grass yard, wi-fi and computers to use if you don't have your own, and plenty of room to roam around. The hotel staff were very helpful in regards to taxi service when needed and were pleased to help out with any questions I had. There's a small shop to buy goods just around the corner and another great little place to eat right outside the main gate. Casa Blanca is also in a safe location with a guard station at the main entrance of the neighborhood(one way in and out), the building itself is inside it's own compound, and walking the small neighborhood outside was safe as it could be.

The Hotel Casa Blanca Inn is very close to the airport. They provide free breakfasts & free shuttle ride to the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very big with comfortable beds and hot showers! The area doesn´t have a lot of restaurants around so it was nice to stay in and still have a nice meal at their restaurant.

I went to Casa Blanca Inn understanding they include breakfast and transport to the airport for an early departure. While owners and staff were pleasant, they offered a room different from what was offered on the phone - 2 single beds for 2 adults & 2 young children. After insisting, they provided a different room with 2 single and 1 queen size bed.

We were assured of service to help us get to the airport by 5 AM. The shower didn't work, the 'free' WiFi internet' was not accessible/functional, and the attendant did not provide us with the requested wake-up call.

Contrary to the assurance provided us that we would have an early breakfast served when I woke up the attendant/cook who assured me she could get us breakfast and into a shuttle by 5, in fact, the incomplete breakfast took a LONG time, the black beans make me nauseous, and it turned out no shuttle was planned to drop us off at the nearby airport.

We arrived late at the airport and we could not wait for the tardy breakfast service.

While this is an 'adequate' B&B near the airport, there are far better values nearby.

Having said this, it is a safe, secure and clean environment. It was kide friendly and slept well.

Spent 2 nights here after a marvelous 2 weeks exploring Guatemala. This place is a little pricier (US$36 or Q300/night for single) than some of the other residential hotels in this neighborhood, but compared to Dos Lunas, it is MUCH newer, roomier, and quieter. The rooms, furniture, bathrooms, and common area are all modern and spotless. The breakfast is the standard Guatemalan fare (eggs, beans, cream, toast), and the WiFi is rather slow, but the staff is very friendly. The International terminal is really just one minute away, and Zona 10 is about 10 minutes (Q50) away by taxi. A couple of tiendas within half a block, but nothing else in this residential neighborhood.
