“Top Notch Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

The staff is professional and willing to help with whatever arrangement you need. My room was quite spacious, there was a good selection of channels on the cable system, the desk was nice to work at and the internet was fast.

Plenty of hot water and all of the amenities you need in the bathroom. I arrived after dark and left around dawn so I didn't get to explore the backyard much but from what I saw it was nice. The hotel itself was in great shape, well maintained and clean, with a kitchen available to guests. When I left the hotel at 4:30 am a staff member met me at my room with a brown bag breakfast to go that was fairly substantial.

As a friend was traveling to Guatemala after me and following me to San Marcos and spoke no Spanish, I was able to get the hotel to pick him up from the airport, drop him off at the bus terminal and even pick him up from the bus terminal upon his return eight days later.

You'd be hard pressed to find better service.

Arrived at Dai Nonni expecting to spend 4 nights there but ended up leaving early due to a few issues. First issue was no hot water the first day which I see was mentioned in another poor review. We were told something was turned off and had to be turned on by handyman or someone. Second issue was minor, there seemed to be woodlice in the bathroom who were causing quite the mess in the bathroom sink. Third problem was the worst. We went out for dinner for maybe 5 hours and had left a sum of money in a bag in the room, in the morning we noticed it was gone. Not a big issue as there is CCTV cameras covering the hallways so I asked for them to check the cameras, reluctantly, they said yes. They came back saying no one entered the hallway, so I asked to view the cameras. They said no problem I waited two hours and then they said they needed a password from another manager...ie. they never checked the cameras. They owner was quite rude and basically said why should I check the cameras when I trust my staff, she promised to send me on the footage...Guess what never got it...Very suspicious behaviour. I have worked extensively with security systems and they would not leave me near it. Very disappointing behaviour and service from staff especially when they have tripadvisor awards.

When I go to Guatemala City it is on one or the other end of a flight. I want a quiet, reasonably priced, clean place to sleep. I also want it close to the airport for ease of travel the next morning. Dai Nonni fits this bill and then some. The room has all the amenities of a fancier hotel including a small fridge. The staff treats folks more like this is a BnB. They are friendly and eager to help with meals, with room selection, with arranging taxis, with whatever is needed. When I made my reservation I got an email front he manager asking if I had any preferences or needs and when I arrived, all was seen to accordingly. I left early the next morning and they packed me a brown bag breakfast to go. It was not really to my liking as it was mostly bread, but there was a good piece of fruit. A yogurt would have been so much more appreciated and next time I will ask and I think they will be happy to comply. The garden out back is a gentle spot to relax, use wifi, read...

We picked the Dai Nonni for his location and pricing. That was perfect for our needs, the personal were very responsive to our needs. The only down side was the difficulty to find a good restaurant close by without needing a taxi.

Thought it' called a hotel, I got the feeling of staying in a B&B. It's located in a safe and quiet neighborhood and is is very close to the airport. We just stayed for one night and was quiet happy with the service.

I thoroughly loved our stay, especially the very relaxed breakfast in the backyard covered deck area. Wonderful use of primitive items as decoration and simple little touches that made it lovely. This was my first night in Guatemala and i LOVED IT.

Room Tip: They are all good.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in early March. Easy access to the airport, good price point, and only a short walk to the restaurant/shopping area around the Westin. The staff is super helpful and it was nice to return at the end of the day and be greeted by people who sincerely seemed to care that you were comfortable. Not air conditioned, which was fine for us at this time of year, but that's the one thing I would keep in mind if considering this hotel. If price is no object, then sure, you may find a nicer room and a softer bed elsewhere, but this was my 11th trip to Guatemala, and I've stayed at lots of different hotels, but I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in two different rooms while we were there - one was called Anna, which was small, and onl...
