“Wonderful welcome for the weary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2010

We stayed at 5 B&B's during our 3 week vacation. Americus Garden was easily Number 1 of the five. The innkeepers, Kim and Susan Engelseer could not have been more welcoming, gracious and interesting. They met us at the car, and helped with our bags. We got several easy directions for dinner spots, including a map from Kim. We got a full tour of the lovely ante-bellum mansion, and enjoyed our stay in the Scarlett O'Hara Room. Breakfast the next morning was as beautiful as it was delicious, and enlivened by wonderful conversation with our hosts and other guests. Worth a divert from I-75 south of Atlanta. We will return when we go that way again.

The house and facilities were lovely and very well equiped with all that we needed. The hosts were friendly and helpful and gave great advice on visiting Andersonville and on area restaurants. The breakfast was fantastic!

Our daughter found the Americus Garden Inn on the internet and we were delighted with our 1 night stay. Our only complaint is that we did not have more time to enjoy all the inn offered outside and in Americus. We were on our way to visit Plains (Jimmy Carter) and only had 1 day in the area. It was a delightful experience and I would happily recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was superb (she even gave us chocolate muffins to take with us) and Kim and Susan were great hosts and made us feel very at home.

The Americus Garden Inn was a wonderful weekend get away for us. We stayed in the balcony room on the second floor and it was perfect. The pictures do not do the room justice. The room was large, bright and airy. The back porch was a wonderful place to sit in the evening and night. We were lucky to have a beautiful bright full moon when we were there. The gardens are beautiful. Everything you are reading on Tripadvisor about the host and breakfast are right on. The whole experience was so pleasant and made for a peaceful and relaxing weekend.

We hope to go back next spring.

We had a great stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Kim and Susan are great hosts who put their all into making certain that the guests have the best experience possible. Restaurant and stght seeing options were great and the breakfasts were a true highlight of our Georgia visit. Susan is great chef, Kim is a great host, and they are a great team of innkeepers. You cannot miss with a stop at the Americus Garden Inn!

We were in the area to visit President Carters home town, and also Andersonville, the infamous civil war prison. We had picked the Americus Garden Inn because of the numerous awards they had received, plus the picture of the inn on their web site made it look so inviting. We had not looked at any reviews from previous guests.

Staying at Kim and Carol's inn was a wonderful experience. They know how to make you feel very welcome and comfortable. Everything is first class, from your room to the gourmet breakfast. I could go on and on about our stay at the Americus Garden Inn, but I will close in saying that If you truly want the best experience possible, do yourself a hugh favor and stay with Kim and Carol when you are in the area.

We chose the Americus Garden Inn as an ideal location to take us away from the stresses of moving cross country from Virginia to New Mexico. We could not have selected a more perfect place to stay! Susan and Kim are wonderful hosts with big hearts. While making our reservation, Susan asked for our input on breakfast ingredients - something we have not experienced before - and we knew this would be a memorable experience. The spacious balcony room met our every need and the breakfasts were awesome. We enjoyed the conversations and the personal tour through their gardens. If we are blessed to have the Air Force move us back to the East Coast, we will be sure to visit the Americus Garden Inn again.
