My husband and I recently returned for a stay on our way back home. It had been three years, so we storlled the garden to see the new plants and how it had grown. Our favorite part is chatting with Kim and Susan. Breakfast was again amazing - Susan went all out to provide us a gluten-free breakfast. We are hoping to return before letting another 3 years go by!

From the photos, I was expecting a beautiful mansion - and that's just what I found. The room was on the first floor as requested. It was beautiful - king bed and immaculate. The breakfast was gourmet. The inn keepers are very knowledgeable about the history of their home and happy to share info with you. When in Georgia, plan on staying here!

Room Tip: Only a 10 minute drive to Plains, Georgia, and the (Jimmy Carter) Center.

We spent two nights at the Americus Garden Inn and truly felt spoiled. The house and gardens are beautiful. The breakfasts were wonderful. Snacks were available at all hours as part of the service. Wi Fi and cable TV was in each of the rooms. Kim and Susan provided information about the history of the house, things to do in the area, and places to eat. They are wonderful stewards of history in the way they preserve this house. But what made the stay the most enjoyable was what charming hosts they were. We do hope to be able to return to Americus Garden Inn for another visit.

Room Tip: We were in the balcony room and the balcony gave a nice view of the garden and Koi pond. He had a l...

Dear Susan T:

What a pleasure it was hosting your anniversary stay at the Americus Garden Inn. We truly feel blessed to be able to share this beautiful home with others and we do our best to help all of our guests make the most of their time with suggestions for activities and dining. However, you are the one who educated us about airedale terriers. We had no idea that there was a breeder in nearby Plains.

Thank you so much for being such wonderful guests and we certainly hope to see you again in the near future.

Warmest regards,
Susan and Kim Egelseer

100% on all levels the entire time we were guests. We wanted to get away for rest and relaxation for our 39th and it was the answer to our wishes. Kim and Susan were top notch and genuinely interested in providing the best, giving much thought to our specific requests. Mark and I love to stay at B&B's, because of the personal touches and meeting other people. There are a few we will not return to, but Americus Garden Inn,as long as Kim and Susan are the hosts, is a B&B we will visit hopefully many times and recommend highly to our traveling friends. Renovating homes ourselves, we appreciate the passion and the diligence of Kim and Susan and the character of their beautiful home and gardens. It is rare that you meet hosts that offer 100% of their time, have a grade of 100 with their food services, and cleanliness and have a 5 star rating for their accommodations.

Dear Carol T:
Once again, please allow us to congratulate you on your 39th! Thank you for allowing us to be your hosts. As you mentioned, all B&Bs are unique and reflect the personalities of the owners. We are so happy to know that you enjoyed our "brand" of B&B. It is our goal to treat all of our guests as treasured, special friends. We look forward to hosting another visit in the near future.
Warm regards,
Susan and Kim Egelseer

After first visiting the Americus Garden Inn two years ago (for my birthday) and having a fantastic stay, we chose to return to celebrate my wife's birthday and see more sites in the area that we missed the last night. I can't say enough how wonderful this B&B is. It's a charming old home in the historic district of Americus, GA. The home is being lovingly restored by the current owners and B&B hosts. We stayed in the "Scarlett Suite" this time (my wife is a huge "Gone With the Wind" fan and collector), which is very, very roomy with a very comfortable king-sized bed and a great big bathroom with both a jacuzzi tub and a glassed-in shower. The inn has a beautiful garden surrounding the house with all types of plants and a fish pond. The hosts, Susan and Kim, are very friendly and willing to accomodate most every reasonable request. The breakfasts are simply fantastic--always homemade muffins, followed by fruit, and then a main dish consisting of an egg item (frittata, quiche, shirred, etc.) with some homemade pancakes. Susan is simply an amazing cook. All food is very healthy and wholesome and homemade. They are also very willing to accommodate all types of diets (I eat and like just about everything, but my wife is diabetic). Susan & Kim will gladly recommend good restaurants in the area (and advise you which ones to avoid), as well as recommend places in the area to visit. One big draw in the area, which most B&B guests opt for, is visiting nearby Plains, GA, where President Jimmy Carter was raised and still lives, and going to Sunday School (when President Carter is in town and teaching the adult Sunday School class) and church at Maranatha Baptist Church. There's so much to do in the area that even after two long weekend trips in the past two years, we plan to return soon for a third visit to try and catch other sites we have not yet seen. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough!!! You will not go wrong for missing this wonderful home, these wonderful hosts, and this very comfortable and delightful bed & breakfast experience.

We spent three days/two nights at this B&B to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. We live just north of Atlanta where life is loud, full, and busy. What a joy it was to steal away to the little town of Americus and stay at the Americus Garden Inn. Kim and Susan were excellent hosts! That was evident before we even arrived. Susan called to confirm our reservations and to thoroughly inquire about any particular needs we might have, what kinds of food we liked, if we had any food allergies, etc. As we approached the door to our room there was a "congratulations" banner posted above the door. Upon entering our gaze was immediately directed toward the bed which had 29 rose petals on it with heart shaped chocolates in the center. If we wanted coffee in the middle of the afternoon our hosts brewed it. If we needed wine chilled for the evening it was there in the room waiting for us, when we returned from dinner. We really did feel like we were personal guests in their home.

The gardens were beautifully manicured and the fragrance of Jasmine and white magnolias filled the air. My wife and I had the simple pleasure of sitting amidst all of this and appreciating the beauty of what God had created. Kim and Susan possessed a wealth of interesting and helpful knowledge, whether it was about the history of the inn or where to enjoy a nice dinner out. The inn was clean, well maintained and in a nice area of historic houses. It seemed like our hosts went out of their way to make our visit a special one as evidenced by their eagerness to serve us. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them. It was both the house and the hosts which made our 29th wedding anniversary a most memorable occasion! The Americus B&B is a great place for a get away and we would recommend it to anyone.

Kim and Susan are wonderful people and excellent hosts. Americus is an interesting town, near Andersonville which is a must see for anyone interested in the Civil War. The national park also has a POW museum exhibit which is worth a visit. Excellent two days all around.
