“Anniversary Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

This was our second stay at the Americus Garden Inn! Kim and Susan have a passion for what they do. The experience of visiting a B&B far exceeds that of a traditional hotel. Kim and Susan make you feel wanted and important to them. The home is a beautiful place that takes you back in time. Everything is clean and the bed was comfy. The icing on this stay is the amazing breakfast that Susan pours her heart into! Yummy! As Kim serves breakfast the conversation is nice and he keeps your mug full. Thanks for making our honeymoon and 8th wedding anniversary so special!

Room Tip: The Scarlett room is quiet and the tub is wonderful to relax in!

Dear Trina:

Thank you so much for sharing your experience at the Americus Garden Inn. It's hard to believe it was 8 years between your visits. We were so glad to see you again.

Your kind words really meant a lot to us and you really are important to us. We strive to make every guest feel right at home and comfortable in our home.

As for breakfast, I believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And, pleasing my guests' palates is my ultimate goal. I am so glad you enjoyed what I prepared for you.

We hope that you will come stay with us again, soon.

Warm regards,

We stayed at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast for two weeks in Jan, 2013. Susan and Kim were wonderful hosts who worked very hard to make our experience exceptional. We had a wonderful time. Their bed and breakfast is located in a large victorian home built back in 1846. It has a big wrap around porch and lots of gingerbread trim - absolutely beautiful! There are gardens with little trails around the house, a pond and waterfall, blooming plants (yes, even in January they were blooming. We had exceptional weather, sometimes in the 70s during our stay there), a gazeboo with a bench swing - very nice grounds.
Breakfast was a three course meal. Exceptional experience. Every detail was thought of including heated mugs for tea and coffee in the morning. Fist course was either freshly baked homemade bread, scones, muffins, babka, or biscuits - they were often warm from just being baked. The second course was fruit. One day we had a chopped pear which was at the peak of ripeness. Strawberries, grapes, grapefruit - excellent variety. The third course is a type of pancakes with eggs. Susan cake make just about any kind of pancake including other nationalities. The eggs were sometimes baked, shirred and wrapped with bacon with cheese on top - excellent each time. The food was outstanding! The experience was outstanding!
The room was large with a large bathroom and veranda were we could sit in rocking chairs. The bed was very comfortable with a heated pad. We had a beautiful fireplace in our room (not used). The ceiling on the first floor are 12' ceilings - beautiful authentic Victorian room.

Dear Kirsten:

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We truly enjoyed sharing our home with you.

Since you were here for 2 weeks, I wanted to make sure that you had a different breakfast every day. It was so much fun creating new dishes and trying new pastry techniques for you. Thank you for being adventurous with breakfast and allowing me to use you as my taste-testers.

As you were here for work and pleasure, we are so glad that you were able to not only get your work done, but, you were able to simply enjoy being here.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Warm regards,

To celebrate New Year's Eve, we stayed at the Americus Garden Inn. We were in the area visiting my family, but we wanted to treat ourselves to something special. It certainly was! Kim and Susan do a great job, and before we left we felt as if we had made friends we will want to see again. The house is beautiful, the breakfast yummy, and we enjoyed being able to walk to the Windsor for dinner. I highly recommend this inn.

Dear Jane:

What a pleasure it was for us to greet the New Year with you. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay.

As our home is in the residential historic district, it is less than a mile from the downtown historic area for restaurants and shopping. What a perfect way to enjoy our beautiful neighborhood by walking to and from dinner. Glad you had the opportunity to take a stroll.

We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

I was worried about being away from home on Christmas morning, away from my children and grandchildren but when we woke up at the Americus Garden Inn we felt RIGHT AT HOME. Kim and Susan are such friendly and hospitable folks, and the gourmet breakfast they prepared and served to us was scrumptous. They made us feel like we were part of their family as we chatted over breakfast. The Scarlet Room is beautiful and the large sunken tub was wonderful to soak in. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who is traveling in South Georgia.

Room Tip: Scarlet Room is huge with a sitting area with tv, huge bathroom with sunken tub and king size bed wi...

Dear Darlene:
What a wonderful Christmas we had enjoying your company. Thank you for allowing us to share the holiday with you.
The Scarlett Suite is probably the most requested room at the Americus Garden Inn. It is the largest room, with a King bed and a very large bathroom with a large soaking tub. In all of our rooms with King beds, we have heated mattress pads to ensure our guests' sleeping comfort.
We appreciate your review and hope to see you again in the near future.

Tired of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta, we were pleased to discover this jewel in Americus, GA. From Susan's porch step greeting "Welcome to our home!" until the departing farewell hug, we were treated with true southern hospitality. Everything about the stay exceeded our expectations. The food was world class - both in taste and presentation. Kim & Susan provided just the right touch of friendliness with an eye for our every need. Would we stay there again? Absolutely. We loved it and look forward to our next ‘Romantic Getaway’.

Our first stay at Americus Garden Inn was back in 2009. We selected it because it was a half way point between our home in Florida and family in Tenn. We enjoyed our stay on our way north so much that we reserved a room for the return trip. In December ’12 we again traveled north for a family wedding and stopped at Americus Garden Inn on our way to Tenn. and our return to FL. It was like we were going home. Kim and Susan make you feel like you are staying with family. The rooms are large, very clean and well appointed. Breakfast is a gourmet’s delight. You just could not ask for a better place to stay. My wife and I have stayed at many B&B’s in the eastern U.S. and Americus Garden Inn is our one and only favorite.

Thank you so much for allowing us to be your stopover between Florida and Tennessee. We are so glad that we could provide the perfect break on both legs of your trip.

Your very thoughtful review warms our hearts and reminds us why we decided to become innkeepers - for the opportunity to meet wonderful people like you.

Our stay was wonderful. The room was great and the food and hospitality even better. Susan and Kim could not have tried harder to see that we enjoyed our stay. We like to try new places, but Americus Garden is a place we will certainly return to if the opportunity presents itself.
