“Great place with friendly & helpful people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2010

We arrived with prearranged plans for my husband to fish with Dan for two days but I had not made plans for myself. Rachel immediately started working on scheduling something for me. She did a great job. We had problems with our rental car during our stay and Dan helped us get what we needed. Our room was spacious and clean. I was so glad to find a comfortable bed, since others I had slept on over the previous week had felt like sleeping on plywood. Everything you needed was within walking or biking distance. They offer free use of the bicycles. A great continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, baked breakfast bread, and fresh squeezed juice. The hamocks on the porch were nice to lay around in and enjoy the breeze. A beautiful view of the water and mountains. It was a great place to stay. I would stay there again.

We stayed for 6 nights here in our furthest adventure south in Belize. We found the flat comfortable, clean, but not quite yet ready for occupancy since it is newly constructed. It was noisy because of the new construction but also because it is in town with all the usual noises - dogs, roosters, the occasional car or bus, and music. The town is not geared for tourism since during our stay, only two restaurants were open and recommended and they both served the same dinner fare and they supplied the lunches on our outings. We ended up doing simple meals in the flat which is great for the budget but not exactly what we planned. There is no beach but the flat had a great veranda overlooking the Bay of Honduras

We have stayed with Rachel and Dan several times while on medical missions to Punta Gorda. They are very accomodating hosts and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are large and ours had a kitchenette with small refrigerator. The Blue Bay is within walking distance of Punta Gorda town center. Will definitely stay with them again.

We stayed for a week and had a fabulous breakfast delivered each morning that was plentiful and fresh. The room was spacious and clean. The hospitality was unexpectedly terrific. Rachel was knowledgeable about the community and surrounding sea and countryside. She also invited us to borrow DVD's to watch when it rained. Nice people who made our experience the best possible.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Blue Belize. It had spacious, tastefully designed rooms and large balconies with a wonderful view of the ocean. The location is perfect, within easy walking (or cycling) distance to the stores and restaurants of PG, yet in a quiet part of the town.
Rachel was very helpful, providing restaurant recommendations and other advice about the area. I stayed for four days/nights and breakfast, which was served on my balcony each morning, was delicious and different every day, with fresh fruit and juices, homemade banana bread and pancakes.
I was on my own, but felt very secure with Rachel, Dan and their two children staying below me. It was very quiet and I fell asleep easily at night, listening to tropical rain on the roof a couple of nights.
I loved my stay there, would definitely recommend it to others and will stay there again next time I visit Punta Gorda.

With its elegant simplicity, Blue Belize is a wonderful spot from which to base your adventures in southern Belize. The flats are very spacious, clean and well-designed with a wonderful location overlooking the Bay of Honduras. The hosts, Rachel and Dan, insure that your stay is a treat. They are both very knowledgeable and more than willing to help arrange any activity. Our family of six (our kids are young adults) spent two days snorkeling and fishing with Dan. After a long day of water and sun, it was a pleasure to relax in our comfortable flats and share snacks on our balconies. We left Blue Belize with a renewed sense of well-being. A great vacation!

It was purely by chance that we ended up at Blue Belize but Rachel and Dan made our trip amazing! Our group of 4 spent a few days with them over Thanksgiving and couldn't be happier that we did. Their house was beautiful and spacious and they made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Rachel spent a lot of time getting to know us and what activities we were interested in and basically arranged the rest of our trip for us. She and Dan know all the best people in Belize and set us up with fishing, diving and accommodations for the remainder of our trip. Not only were they amazing, but the people they arranged for us to fish and dive with were amazing too. We truly can't recommend them highly enough!
