“great accommodation for Placencia”

Laru Beya Resort

Great condo/hotel accommodations. Ideal location for daytrips to surrounding areas of interest (jungle and Mayan ruins)and for whaleshark excursions. Can be all organized through the front office Took snorkeling option to accompany divers 26 miles out past the reefs in a 28 ft open twin outboard boat. It took just over an hour to get there for about 8 people and 2 crew and a captain. Lunch and drinks provided.A little rough beyond the reef in open waters but the divers saw whalesharks on both dives. However, they were too deep for the snorkelers to see them on this trip with the Seahorse crew. Back by about 4pm.

My wife and I came from L.A. to see the Whale Sharks: so when they didn't show up on cue, we were glad we stayed at Laru Beya. The place is really, really nice.

It's hard to break down what makes it so: no single factor. Location, facilities, and managers Peter and Petro all combined to give us a great week. When it was over, we were glad we didn't see the stupid sharks, so we can come back to this exact spot in the future.

Our beachfront suite with a kitchen was beautiful, Peter's sailing lessons and Petro's trip planing were flawless, the pool was spotless and uncrowded (even for Spring Break), and we could walk down the beach for pizza and drinks over the water.

Good place for couples, families, reunions, etc.

By far one of the best hotels/ resorts I have ever stayed at. The managers of the Laru Beya, as well as all the staff, go out of their way to make you feel at home. They all know you by name and you will find that you know them by name as well.
Sitting down at breakfast the first morning, I was greeted by one of the managers who addressed me by name and asked me how the room was, whether I was enjoying my stay so far, etc. They are amazingly kind and helpful and willing to help you in any way possible. There are no words to describe the amazing atmosphere that exist at this one of a kind resort.
From a miniature golf course designed by the managers, to the open air restaurant, from the hammocks on every porch to the numerous sailboats and kayaks, this resort is a place full of fun and relaxation. I cannot recommend it any stronger.

“Great Palce, Great People”

Laru Beya Resort

Mar 25, 2008

This is a wonderful place. Peter and Pietra made us feel like extended family come for a visit, not gaudy guests at some corporate hotel. Our pleasant and very comfortable rooms were less than twenty yards from the ocean, and we were able to savor, without TV or phone, a unique environment in which to bike, swim, sail, kayak, snorkel and sleep on the porches hammocks. It is a perfect spot for touring the nature preserves in the interior and boating to the barrier reef. It is modern without being flashy--and is a bike ride from one of the funkier towns in the hemisphere--Placencia. Great spot, great hotel, great people!

my wife and i were part of a mission team and placencia was our place for some down time after working earlier in the week. this is a beautiful property---nice pool, great view, relaxing restaurant/bar (open air). we found the staff to be very helpful and extremely responsive. i asked for an extra couple of towels at the office and petro almost beat me back to the room!!! we liked having an upper level room with the hot tub. if you find yourself in placencia, Laru Beya is an excellent choice for your stay.
