In the past, I have researched trips through the helpful resources of Trip Advisor and, in appreciation, wish to share with fellow travelers the exceptional vacation that I experienced last week.
I had the good fortune of staying four nights at the beautiful Laru Beya on the sandy shores of Placencia and could not have been thrilled with my choice of accommodations. Reflecting on the vacations that I have taken over the years, I can't recall ever having experienced the level of customer service, caring, and support that I received from Petro and Peter at Laru Beya. They're extraordinary hosts who go ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure that their guests' every need and interest are met. They have truly "raised the bar" to a new level that will be nearly impossible for future hotel managers or hosts to meet!
To provide one example, I encountered challenges in making unexpected adjustments in local and international flights for my return to the U.S. Petro did not want me to have to worry about anything and kindly made numerous calls on my behalf to resolve the situation, which gave me enormous peace of mind to enjoy my excursions. In the end, everything worked out, thanks to her attentiveness and special efforts.
To provide another example, as a solo traveler with an avid interest in nature and birdwatching, I was deeply appreciative of her efforts -- in advance of and during the trip -- to find an experienced guide. She hooked me up with Christian Bech, an extremely knowledgeable and talented guide, who I highly recommend for trips to Cockscomb (Jaguar) Sanctuary, to Red Bank (to see Scarlet Macaws and visit and dine with the people of the village in their homes), to see the Mayan ruins, etc. I had contacted several others about the birdwatching trip, in particular, and ultimately, it was Petro who made this unique experience possible.
And, finally, Peter was so very helpful with transfers, travel-related questions, and much more. His cheerful disposition and energy were infectious.
The entire staff of Laru Beya could not be more wonderful. When I dined in their restaurant, which overlooks the ocean and pool, the staff were warm and attentive and offered to whip up special vegetarian selections if I wanted more options than the vegetarian plates that already existed on the menu. Everyone at Laru Beya goes out of their way to ensure that guests have the most enjoyable and memorable experience.
Laru Beya's setting could not be more beautiful and tranquil, nor could it be more convenient. A short taxi ride away is Placencia Village and the airport. Next door, The Inn at Robert's Grove is a large resort that offers alternative dining options and a host of land and sea trips.
I was sorry to see my trip end; however, I know that I will return and that there is NO other place that I would chose to stay in Placencia.
