We actually stayed in a private home nearby, but discovered Singing Sands while we were just out exploring. Their spot on the beach is great. Beautiful small place. Only 6 or 8 rooms. 6 cabanas and 2 rooms, I think, but great ambiance. We stopped in for a Pina Colada, best Pina Colada in the area. Then we booked a fishing guide with Maya at the front desk. Arthur was the best fishing guide I have ever had anywhere. We waited until the last day to eat there...big mistake. It was the best meal in Belize... a great meal anywhere. Four of us each had a different meal and we all agreed it was superb. The owners were very pleasant and enhanced the already great experience that we had there. I know that if I didn't already have a house to stay in that I would return to Placencia and would stay at Singing Sands. The locals in Placencia are wonderful people.
