I cant say enough good things about the Green Parrot. We came to Belize to fish and just relax. What we liked most about the Green Parrot were the individual cabanas. We had a great view of the water and cold fish off the dock in the early morning.
The sun comes up around 6am.
Each day the cabana was cleaned and the linens were changed.
The restaurant is quite handy. They serve 3 meals a day. The menu is limited, but hey, they only have 8 cabanas, so you get used to eating the meal of the day.
Ruben is a grand chap. He is the bartender and since he is Mayan, he knows all about the countries culture. He pours a fine cold Belikin beer - the local brew, after a long day of fishing the lagoon.
We had no complaints about the service. All you need to do is talk to Leo and ask about what to see and where to go. Time at the bar is fun in that you get to meet some of the locals.
Along the road you see a lot of development going on. Cant say that it looks all that good - they are cutting a lot of mangrove and building homes and resorts that look like they are right out of Miami. I guess that is what we liked so much about the Green Parrot - I would have to say that it is a traditional "Belize" resort. Quiet, laid back, friendly and no pressure.
We hope to make this into a stop on our future travels to Belize.
IKeep up the good work!!
