“Incredible Beach House!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My wife and I recently rented this beach villa and it is as advertised. It is perfect for couples traveling together or families with older children. The house itself is split separately into 3 villas/rooms for the ultimate privacy. The main house has a master above it and the there are 2 suites/rooms with their own private entrances from the pool. The outside rooms have awesome outdoor shower facilities as well as very spacious living area that includes room, closet, bathroom, and indoor and outdoor showers. The house sits about 50 yards from the beach and has fabulous views. The beach itself was raked and cleaned daily during our stay. While we were there the water was a little rough and we only got in the ocean about 3 days of our 7 day stay. Aaron was great to deal with and assisted us in any and all aspects of our visit to Placencia. He even scheduled our rental car for us and met us at the airport on arrival with a cold Belikin beer! The house is about 10-15 minutes from the Placencia village and 5 minutes from the Maya Beach area. I would recommend renting a car but the drives are very short and easy to get to great dining and adventures! The house is in an area that has a secured gate with security that walks the property 24 hours a day. This is a nice addition, but I personally don't think the entire area is unsafe. This is just an extra service they provided. I would recommend checking this house out if you are planning on going to Placencia! Thanks Aaron for a great villa and vacation!

“Frequent traveler's new favorite place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Generally, it's my feeling that there are too many beautiful places to be seen to keep vacationing in the same place over and over. Well, I have changed my mind and will definitely visit Belize again! Belize was wonderful and this property made my stay over the top! It was well kept, updated, very clean and comfortable. My favorite part was the outdoor showers! The owners have thought of everything to make for a great stay! We could not have asked for a better host! Aaron was great! If we hit the lotto, my first purchase will be THIS property!!

We traveled with two other couples and we shared the same feelings about the trip:
1. Belize and its people are simply beautiful!
2. The food was amazing!
3. The best part of our stay was our comfy rental! It really looks like the pictures posted online!

“Belize it, or not”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My husband and I traveled to this rental in Placencia with two other couples this past July. The photos are great, but the REALITY is even better!!! The villa was so relaxing. We used all the amenities. To name a few, we cooked/grilled dinner and ate on the deck one evening, we rode the bikes into town for breakfast, and one of the manager's(Aaron) attendants chopped up fresh coconuts for us!!! Those made for very relaxing drinks poolside. The view of the moon over the ocean was sooo soothing and the morning breeze made for a refreshing morning run/workout. We even listened to Pandora while enjoying the pool with the free wifi!!! Each of our visits to the village were very rewarding and the food was amazing. Aaron and his father raised the bar for great host and provided a local cell for immediate assistance. Their attentiveness and hospitiaity drive my strong desire to return!! Such a delightful visit made my departure very difficult. My best escape yet, and would love to return to this very villa!!

“You better Belize it!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

I traveled with two other couples - so the beach rental was the perfect property. Three separate suites under one roof in a private, beach-front community. If you are looking for a true relaxing get away without the commercial hustle and bustle of most retreats, this is the place. The property was exactly as presented in the photos. Very clean, modern and had everything needed for a vacation home. The host - Aaron - was incredibly hospitable. He bent over backwards to ensure our stay was enjoyable. He knows all the local eateries and relaxation spots. One of the best vacations I've taken!

“Paradise in Belize”

We stayed in the Villa at Cocoplum for a week in May and it exceeded our expectations. There were 3 couples and no one felt they got the "short stick" on the bedrooms. They were spacious and exactly what they looked like in the pictures. The outside showers were a definite bonus. The master bedroom was huge with a pretty balcony that was perfect for morning coffee. The pool and the beautiful manicured beach were favorite gathering places in the evening after a wonderful day of sightseeing or diving. The house looks exactly like the pictures and everything we needed was there, right down to 2 types of coffee makers. Aaron was a great help with everything. Arranging tours and suggesting great places to eat. I would highly recommend the Villa at Cocoplum to everyone.

“Beautiful, relaxing, and close to all activities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The house was beautiful! It was perfect for our family vacation which included three couples as the house is section off for three separate private areas at are connected by the pool and living/kitchen area. The only complaint was that some wanted the living area a little larger, but the bedroom areas were very spacious! The outdoor showers were the biggest luxury, though they were not accessible from the outside, there were areas to rinse off before entering the home from the beach. Having a house on the beach was very nice! And there were plenty of trees for shade. There are no private beaches in Belize, but we sure felt ours was since it is not in the center of town and there were very few neighbors, only around the same time every day did we see a few neighbors walking their dogs together. There was seaweed on the beach when we first saw the beach but quickly saw that there was someone who cleaned and raked the beach daily, making it beautiful! The house came with kayaks, bikes, a grill, washer and dryer, and a crib for our nephew. Wifi and cable were only accessible in the living room area, which was actually nice because it allowed you to disconnect from technology and interact with the people you were with and be active, but yet if needed it was easily found in that portion of the house. We took the kayak out for a little fishing trip in the lagoon on the property, there are pretty little jellyfish in these areas so I would suggest limiting swimming to the beach or pool. Aaron manages the house and lives in the same development area, he came by every couple of days to give us information, help us set up activities, give us referrals, and even help us make drinks. He gave us great referrals for a dive shop, car rental, and fishing guide. When one referral he gave us didn't go as great as the others, he advocated for them to give us some of our money back. He was very nice and laid back, and most of all, helpful and easy to work with. The house is about 15 minutes from the main town at the end of the peninsula, but there were plenty of restaurants, stores and other things in both directions that were closer. Placencia is about three hours from the main airport in Belize city, you can get there by another plane, rental car, or bus. There is also security when entering the CocoPlum development and security that walks around the area at all times.

To do:
We used most of Aaron's referrals. We dove with Avadon Dive shop, just on the other side of the little airport. Ann Marie was great at helping me get my certification complete, Aurthur was my instructor and he was great at showing me almost everything there was to see under the water. Aaron and Aurthur's brother for fishing, Jason Westby. He took us all day on a private fishing tour for tarpon, fly fishing, and trolling. We were also referred to Eworth by friends and other locals but he was busy when we contacted him. We had a fun snorkel day seeing all kinds of sea life and eating on a tiny little island. We also took a hike up to the water falls at the Jaguar reserve. Monkey river was a popular trip, I wouldn't say it was awesome but we did get pretty close to the monkey's who came down from the trees when the guide called them. Spend one dinner at RumFish, you might want to call ahead, and the ghellato place next to it is really good.

Overall it was a great stay!
