we stayed in the riverside hotel the night before catching the boat to Honduras. Betty is a great character and the hotel is grand. It is hot in the rooms but the whole town is hot. Is fine for a night on your way out to Tobacco or like us Honduras.

It was dark and we were tired, so we settled for the Riverside Hotel, the first hotel we spied when the bus let us off in Dangriga. The room itself was "OK" at 10 USD per person. We got in exchange basic budget accommodation, the only plus being that linens and towels were included in the price. The windows did not shut properly to block out the parties on the street below. Worst of all was the condition of the common bathrooms -- mold and general grunge in the toilets. The cold showers were equally as nasty with a used feminine product floating about the drain, ick! The concierge room was large and colorful, but we left no time to investigate, hightailing it out of there as soon as possible at daybreak!
