Cohune Palms is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly peaceful. Our cabin had an enormous bathroom and very cool art.

The food was delicious with massive portions.The 2 women who cook are very sweet.

We swam in the river, hung out in the hammocks, and did day tours of ATM cave (totally awesome!) and to Tikal (really interesting).

I would absolutely recommend Cohune Palms!

Visited the San Ignacio district while my son was on a semester abroad program in Belize. Creation Care Studies Program. We could have chosen many wonderful places to stay but as he wanted to show us around, we looked for a reasonable place with a nice atmosphere. Cohune Palms is tucked away by the river and the cabanas are very nice. Wonderful having a private outdoor restaurant too. There were many hammocks and places to lounge. We saw little native animals and birds there. Owners Mike and Bevin can arrange any day trip you want with their guys or explore on your own. The place is small and quiet and would really be fun for a group or a romantic get-away.

Cohune Palms is a small, peaceful and beautiful haven on the banks of the lovely Mopan River, just fifteen minutes from the heart of San Ignacio. It is a great jumping off point for the adventures in west and central Belize - cave tubing, ziplining, horseback riding, visiting the Mayan sites, and more. Owner Mike's family had owned the riverfront property for ages. Bevin came down from the States to work as an archeologist on the excavation of nearby Mayan site Xunantunich. She met Mike, they married and the rest is history. The landscaping is exquisite - big bullet trees (ironwood) line the river and the majestic cohune palms surround the pavilions. Iguanas and agoutis wander through the property. Melanie, the cook, is wonderful - she makes a hearty breakfast and creative and delicious dinner. The fresh-squeezed OJ is the best I've ever had and I loved the lime drink with dinner. You coudn't find a better place in Cayo.

We stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. Delightful laid back spot by the river. Food very good. Cabanas the best we found in Belize. Excellent value for money.
