We loved everything about this resort. The staff was sensational-very friendly and hard working and did everything in their power to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The food was delicious and the rooms were very nice. We will definitely go back. Perfection!

By far the nicest accommodations in San Ignacio. Great food and drinks. Try the watermelon juice any time of day! No fitness center but there are no shortage of outdoor activities do get your heart rate elevated. We had reserved a single queen bed. However due to the holiday we were given two twin beds.

My wife and I are on the tail end of a 2 week stay in various parts of Belize, and the San Ignacio Resort Hotel was by far the best place we stayed. To give you some context, we also stayed at duPlooy's in San Ignacio (also very nice), All Seasons Guest House in Hopkins (not recommended), Caye Reef Apartments (great but too big for a couple) and Sea Dreams Hotel in Caye Caulker. Although we enjoyed the experience at some of the other places, the SIRH by far exceeded our expectations.

We arranged all of our own outings, so they did not assist us with that, but we did get good dining recommendations from Mary at the front desk, which was very helpful since most of the places in town were shut down for the Easter holiday weekend.

We stayed for 3 nights and the staff was very attentive. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and the pool area was more than adequate. Unlike some of the other places we stayed, the staff there immediately addressed any issue we had - not that there was much to deal with because the hotel is already fantastic.

In short, if you are headed to the San Ignacio area, it is well worth spending a little extra to stay here and using this as your launching area for the many day trips that the area has to offer.

We just returned from 8 days in Belize three of which we stayed at this hotel. It was over 100 degrees the entire time we were there and we were so relieved to have such nice, quiet and beautiful place with a quiet in-room AC unit and a great pool. The staff here is wonderful. They remember your name, help in any way possible and were very accommodating. We liked the food - chicken wings and Bob's special (mayan steak with onions over a basket of fries) being favorites. We had conch soup that was wonderful. We also ate in town and enjoyed that also. The location can't be beat as it is so easy to get everywhere from this hotel. Special thanks to their guide Ted who took us to Tikal when it was 106. He is awesome and a great guide. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money on a deluxe room - much better location.

Good location. Well maintained, quiet, helpful service, nice pool. Only negative was restaraunt - food is so-so, would recommend going elsewhere (although nothing is really outstanding in the area) - downtown is an easy walk.

We stayed here with friends for 4 nights in Feb. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. We did find however that the tours were over priced from the hotel (as is usually the case) but we used them anyways as it is so much more convenient than booking elsewhere.. The rooms are large and the king bed was massive. The food was excellent, but as mentioned the service was slow ~ but at least the views we amazing!

If you go on the tours or need transportation ask for Ted he is awesome!!

I stayed at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel with a friend in February for 4 nights and really had the best time. It was a great launching spot for adventure tours around the caves and local mayan sites and an even better place to return to afterwards for a hot shower and clean bed. The San Ignacio Resort Hotel was, however, far more than a hot shower and clean bed - it has a beautiful balcony-equipped restaurant from which birds and iguanas can be spotted, a magnificent looking pool area and an amazing Iguana conservation centre.
The stand out factor of San Ignacio however was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and the chance for a bit of indulgence with out mobs of people around the pool and restaurant. I recommend this hotel to everyone!
