“Nice ride through the countryside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

My horse Concentido was a little punk and bit some of the other horses, but we had a fun time and our guide was very friendly and helpful. We rode about 2 hours from the stables to Xunantunich in San Jose Succotz.

Oooh, you and Consentido--he's quite the little horse with a big spirit! He's a good opportunity to test your skills with horses :) Glad you enjoyed the ride to Xunantunich, and hope to see you again soon.

“Ride to the ruins in style!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

Great ride for just the two of us to Xunantunich with our guide Arnold, a cowboy straight out of central casting: squinty, big hat, boots with silver spurs, creased jeans, huge belt buckle. The price was also extremely reasonable: we paid for the ruins admission and lunch out-of-pocket, and so were charged only $30 pp for the horses and guide. The horses were friendly and easy to control, if you have a firm hand. The ride took us through farmland, with a view of the ruins in the distance, a little over an hour each way. Arnold waited for us while we took as much time as we wanted at the ruins. We had a nice lunch at a local restaurant after the ride, where we got to know Arnold a little better: he had great stories about growing up as a cowboy in Belize, and even about visiting California to see family. Fun way to visit this site (and feel superior to the tourists riding in on buses).

Branden, we love the title for your review! It's definitely a stylin' ride to go with Arnold. We are so happy you enjoyed your ride with us and totally agree: it's far superior to the tourists riding in on buses! Come back soon.

“Choose Hanna for horseback while in Belize!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

So we stayed inland in jungle and wanted to ride-we are not riders per say. W ejust wanted to horseback a bit-Santiago at Hanna Stables is the best! Awesome horses-he loves the animals-and raised in belize it was great to ride on the street and trails and have every local that drove by wave hello to our local well liked guide. He was informative and adorable! We rode to Cha Creek (a resort we wanted to see) and then stopped for a medicinal trail tour. Awesome!

“Must do activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have not even imagined that horse riding can be this exciting...going through the water to get to unexcavated ruins was absolutely amazing and so as people that guided us. I would strongly recommended over any activity you can do in this town.

“Hanna Stables is definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I've done horse riding before in New Zealand but Hanna Stables was much better! The horses were really well looked after, relaxed and I felt really safe on my horse, Joanna.

We rode through tall grass, large fields and a gushing rive and visited excavated ruins. It's three hours in total and really good value for money.

Santiago was lovely and his colleague Nelson was extremely helpful, especially when climbing steep forest slopes near the ruins where I was saved from tumbling to the bottom!

I'd love to go back and do it again.
