“Relaxing Serenity on Hummingbird Highway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Traveling along the Hummingbird Highway in Belize is a treat in itself. The "Avator type" mountains seem to erupt from the landscape randomly and unpredictably. The natural vegetation along the route is dotted with quaint villages and the occasional Mennonite buggy. Twelve miles southeast of Belize's capital, Belmopan, is the Blue Hole National Park. With limited time, we walked the trails down to the Blue Hole. (The park consists of 800 acres of natural beauty!) The pristine site is quite relaxing with the 25-foot deep turquoise pool, surrounded by lush rainforest, with over-hanging mosses, flowering vines and huge green ferns. I really wanted to wade around in the shallow waters, but time prevented this feat. The fine mist that fell from the canopy of trees above the Blue Hole made us feel like we were truly on a mini rainforest adventure! Next year, I will be feeling the waters of this beautiful spot against my feet and legs!! (There is a small entrance fee that is collected by an attendant who sits at the beginning of the trails.)

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Just a quick little walk down to a beautiful oasis!! Spent some time wading with the little fishies... the color of the water is insanely cool. Chose not to dive down into the water, but some other brave people that were there at the same time did! Beautiful area! When I was getting ready to leave, there was a bit of a downpour so I spent a half hour talking with the gentleman that was working there that day. He was full of all kinds of fun facts! Made my little adventure walk that much more fun. Definitely suggest taking it in if you are in the area!

“Great swimming hole.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

The water felt great and the location was beautiful. It is one of the least strenuous hikes to get to the blue hole.

“Nice place to stop if you're nearby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

A small lagoon which is a pretty place to cool off. Make sure you pack some insect repellent. It was a pleasant visit, but not the kind of thing I will remember and rave about for years/

“Nice Swim”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

This is a great place to stop and go for a swim. I was there in September during raining season and the water was high, blue and very cold. I loved it and actually didn't want to leave, because once your body adapts to the water it is very energizing. Yes there are mosquito's, and spiders... but this is Belize, don't know what people are complaining about, its not a hotel pool... its a small lagoon with clean running water in the middle of a jungle... cant get any better. St Hermans caves is only a mile away from the blue hole, which is also a great place to visit.
