“Great Experience!!!”

We have just returned form a cruise vacation which took us to the port of Belize City. A friend of ours suggested Cave-tubing.com in Belize for lack of other atttractions in this port. What a great experience! The bus ride is a little long but the guides made it very entertaining. We can't say enough about the guys who run the show, they like what they do and they work hard to make this a great experience! We have two teenage boys and both said this was the best port that we visited just because of cave-tubing.com! We watched as the people who booked their cave tubing through the cruise line get unguided tours and a much shorter ride, they also paid DOUBLE the price! This is well worth the money!

“Our most memorable adventure in Belize!”

My family just got back from a trip to Belize, and by far the most memorable thing we did was cave tubing with Yhony. They went above and beyond what we were expecting and made it a fabulous trip. We were picked up promptly from our hotel at no extra cost. The 45 minute bus ride flew by as we were entertained by "Y-honey".

We did the ATV ride first, and were begging to go longer. The trails are immaculately maintained, super muddy, and there is a constant blur of people running around the jungle to help you and take pictures for you. Absolutely it was worth every penny.

After getting hot and muddy riding ATVs we were able to cool off with a short dip in the river before our brief walk through the rain forest. The guides even carried the tubes for my mom and her friend. We put our tubes in the river at the most beautiful spot on Earth. Pictures do not do this place justice! The guides work so hard getting everybody through the tunnels. I couldn't believe how service-intensive this trip was.

I cannot say enough good things about our trip with cave-tubing.com. If you want smaller groups, I would suggest booking on a day when the cruise ships are not in port. We felt like we had the river to ourselves.

There is no question we would book through them again, and we can't recommend them highly enough. They aren't happy until you are happy. They all work so hard, and really earn their money!

Save your money. We signed up for a cave tubing and ATV excursion through Yhony at Cavetubing.com "Master of the Caves". I did some research before we left, and this company got some good reviews except one that said they didn't have enough equipment for everybody. I e-mailed Yhony to make sure there would be enough equipment for our party of 8 and he assured me that there would be no problem. Well, there was a problem. Only 2 of us got our own ATV's. The other 6 had to double up. The worst part was that there were so many people riding (21), that all we did was sit. People ahead of us were constantly getting stuck in the mud until a guide would come to help them out. We would go about 10-20 feet and then stop for 5-10 minutes until the person in front started moving again. It was just one big slow line of 21 people barely moving. It was ridiculous. Then they bussed us to the caves. It was ok, but very very dark and actually a little boring. We didn't realize that everybody was required to hook up like a train. By the time we got to the end of the river, our armpits were sore from the person's shoes behind them. Before we could head back to town, we had to wait another 45 minutes for the bus to go back and pick up the other people that did the longer cave tubing only, not the ATV's, which left us no time to do anything else in Belize. We were already feeling really ripped off, but the straw that broke the camels back was when we approached town, they said they would only accept cash. The website said that they were so confident with their excursion that you didn't have to pay until the end, but they never said that it had to be cash only. We had brought very little cash with us since we were riding ATV's and tubing down a river. They made the entire bus stop at a bank so 3 families that didn't bring enough cash could get their money from an ATM. The ATM wouldn't give enough money for my husband, so he had to go into the bank, but they wouldn't give him any cash since he didn't have any photo ID (only his Visa and ship card). He then went back to the ATM to get what he could. We were still short about $50 which is what we spent on refreshments at their establishment waiting for the other group, and a tip which we had already given them. It was humiliating. All this was unfolding in front of the entire bus. The website, the reservation, nor any of the correspondance I had with them ever said cash only. When I got back to the ship my confirmation was the only document that said "with us you pay cash until the tour is over", but it was buried and not up front. Even if I had seen that, it wasn't clear that cash was the only accepted form of payment. Unfortunately, their desire to line their pockets with overbooking, left us with a sour taste of cavetubing.com and our experience in Belize.

I highly recommend booking a shore excursion directly with cave-tubing.com. Read all the good reviews here, go to their website & book it. You will get email confirmation with all details you need. You pay nothing until the end of the trip, so you have nothing to lose & if your cruise ship schedule changes, you haven't even provided a credit card, so no worries! (pay CASH only at the end).

This guys run a professional & efficient business. Our guide worked nonstop, helping folks with tubes, getting around any other large groups or lines we encountered. Our group was smaller than the cruise ships & we still got included in the cruise ship individual photos.

My husband & I (mid 30s) opted for the cave tubing & ATV adventure. It was lots of fun. We got a little muddy on the ATVs, but it was intentional. The combo trip was a little more expensive than just the tubing, but the ATVs were all new. Those are usually expensive to rent any where. This part of the tour was a path through the jungle where you followed the ATV in front of you on a trail ride, so not at much personal adventure as we had hoped, but getting my husband all muddy made up for it - hee hee!

Tubing was a nice follow-up, cooling us off (water was little chilly/refreshing in early March) & washing off the mud. The caves are completely natural & beautiful greenery along the river.
Overall, great value - the bus ride was comfortable (approx 1 hr each way - think of the cost of gas now), entertaining with info from the local guides & lots of scenery of the locals area.

The whole excursion was around 5 hrs - picking us up at the dock immediately after docking & taking us back in plenty of time for a little shopping & a couple of drinks.

We loved our Belize excursion & just hope that it doesn't get over commercialized with the cruise ships.

We booked cave-tubing.com because of the positive reviews on this site. We were hoping for a smaller group then the cruise ship tours; boy were we wrong. Our group was a full bus load. We were linked together in groups of 12-13; there was only 3 guides for the whole bus.

We only went through 1 cave, and it felt very rushed. They pushed us right through and we were through the actual cave in 15 minutes. We even passed the crusie ship tour that stopped to admire the inside of the caves. Their tour guide was giving them some history on the caves. Our tour guide just pushed us all through. It would of been nice to know the history /information about the cave systems.

The tour took so long becasue of the number of people. By the time everyone got their tube walked the trail and got into their tubes it was noon. We did not have time to stop for lunch. When we left their was 3 cave tubing buses parked in the parking lot.

The tour was less money; however I was disappointed in the cave tubing excperience. I saw some smaller groups that did 2 caves and took some time to go swimming-

We were a family of 4 with children 8 and 11.
