My wife and I, along with our friends (total 6) booked this excursion off the Carnival Glory, traveling April 14 - 21, 2013. My friend found Experience Belize off TripAdvisor, and booked it due to the overwhelmingly positive review. The reviews are not wrong, and I strong suggest anyone looking for a private excursion to book with Allen and Leah were the two people who picked us up at the Port Terminal 2. Allen stood with a sign and welcomed us with a warm smile and a firm and friendly handshake. He walked us to the minibus where his wife, Leah, greeted him. Unfortunately, Leah could not join us for the tour because she stayed at the port to wait for 3 other guests who booked, but did not show up yet. Allen, fearful that we would miss our last tender, decided to start the tour and if the other guest arrived, they would meet us. Allen first drove us through a brief city tour, and gave us a rich history of the city, as well as pointing out all the embassies and contributions to Belize from other countries. He was knowledgeable, and humorous. He took us to the Altun-Ha ruins and was able to give us a detailed explanation of the site, how it was found, the significance of certain ruins and why some were taller than others. The best part was he taught us about the agriculture and the herbal remedies available in the island. It was fascinating, and full of bad, but funny puns! Such as, "you have to see it to Belize it". And, it is so true. You MUST book with Allen's company, it is a small, family run business, and they give you the personal and private touch. Keep up the good work!
The price was 45 dollars per person from 1030 to 330PM. Allen provided free ice cold beverages: soda, water, beer. That was very nice of him, and refreshing on such a hot and sunny day!
