I liked it here ;-)
Caye Caulker is a really beautiful place with a perfect Caribbean flair and Tropical Paradise hotel was the perfect location for us to enjoy life here. When we arrived we had the choice between two different rooms. As it was my birthday we decided us for the bigger one. This room was really nice. A lot of space, good air condition, clean showers and an ocean-view from the balcony and it wasn’t really expensive.
You don’t have an included breakfast but it doesn’t matter because you can found a lot food in the area around and I really suggest to taste as much of the local food as possible ;-)

I stayed at tropical paradise for about 10days, i loved the place.I found the owners and staff to be really nice and helpful.I stayed in a few different rooms there,as they had prior bookings.the 3 different rooms i stayed in were very clean.and people this is a tropical island, occasionally expect to see a roach.they do come in the room, from out of the palm trees,as they do in florida, and all hot places.the restaurant there is fabulous, there shrimp curry and ceviche is to die for. When i get chance to go back to caye caulker this is where i wlll be staying, and this will be the first restaurant i eat at.

We stayed about 5 days in a beach front cabana here and loved it. Our cabana had air con, a bath, tv, for about $70US a night. There are loungers and a great dock for swimming. The location is right near the reggae bar. The restaurant at the hotel was good and they had bucket of 6 beers for $10US:)

I advised that my room had bedbugs. The management didn't care even with evidence, only complained about losing a nights rent and basically tried their best not to refund ANY money, pointing to the sign "no refunds" . A partial refund, denial of a problem (despie maybe 100 bites and showing them a bug) and then they called in the pest control (my friends were not in this room and watched this happen as iwas double paying for another hotel at the same time).
Don't come here if you want friendly service from Ivan who tried his best to hold onto peanuts with all the sincerity of a baboon.

We went here for a bucket of beer and a snack, food was disappointing but couldnt beat their bucket of Belikin deal. Setting was odd right at the cemetary too.

We stayed in the rooms by the checkin desk along the back. I felt safe staying there. The room was on the end and large. We had lots of windows and a fan for a breeze. If you stay more than 2 nights, you get a better deal on the room. There was a beach with lots of chairs and a dock to walk down and dive in the ocean. Saw lots of little fish and an eagle ray off the dock the last day. They have a restaurant on site with good deals for food.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

We stayed 3 nights in this a bit overpriced and basic hotel. It was an ordinary stay until the last day. I accidentally wiped a small and already broken figurine (app. worth 5 $) from the desk in the reception room. A small piece broked away. Not a big deal, easy to fix. I suggested to do that and apologied of course.
However the owners of the hotel (well known from the other TripAdvisor - reviews...) were sitting outside partying a bit. They recognized the accident and started yelling to the poor and really friendly girl behind the desk. They told her to charge me 13$ immediately and a lot of things I did not understand. Obviously they forced her to handle the fixed compensation and told her that she had to pay this amount if I wouldnt do that. When I recognized that, I went outside and tried to apologize and ask for a way how we could settle this ridiculous conflict but they totally ignored me. The young receptionist was completely intimidated.
Long story short: I paid the money for a little cheap figurine, which was already broken before and was shocked because of the treatment of the staff by these really unappealing owners. At least they are - as mentioned by a lot of other reviewers before - extremely unfriendly to the customers.

Room Tip: If possible: dont support the weird owners/management with your money and look for a different place...
