“Beautiful spot. Great owners.”

I loved this hotel. I stayed in two rooms. Both were very charming. The hotel is right on the beach. I believe one or two rooms have a beachfront location, but I actually like the back ones more. It's very cosy in the back. I liked the private dock. At the end of it is a hut with 2 hammocks. It's gorgeous here at night.

The only thing I didn't like was that the hotel is outside the "core" of the town. But it's only a 2-3 minute walk. You can also rent a bike from the owners. And it's a nice walk if you take the shore (through the cute cemetery). The restaurant by the cemetery, by the way, is one of the best on the island.

The owners were very nice and very accomodating. They held on to my stuff and moved it to my new room while I was on a trip.

I will stay here again for sure. I was the most visually appealing hotel I've stayed at on the island.

My girlfriends and I found this hotel through TripAdvisor--thank you!!

The couple who owns the hotel is very friendly, everything was clean, there was free water in our bungalow, cable TV...and housekeeping came every day to clean up.

The island is very small and quiet. Everything is within walking distance, so make sure you walk to the northern part of the island to swim at the Split.

Barefoot Beach was the perfect end to our weeklong stay in Belize.

Cute little place just south of the main part of town. You can walk around the entire island in less than 30 minutes, so can't really pick a bad location! Barefoot Beach is on a quiet stretch, and is worth the stay for the palapa & dock! It seemed to be the best one on the island -- several beach chairs and hammocks under the palapa. A great spot!

In my opinion, this is by far the best accommodation on Caye Caulker. The main part of town is quite noisy and this place is just far enough away (10 minutes walk, 2 minutes bike) that it is so serene and quiet, but you're not too far from the action!

We stayed in the Oceanfront Suite which was great. Air-con, giant bed, hot water, tv, full kitchen. The dock out front is perfect for relaxing and the owners are so helpful and accommodating. They helped us organize several outings (ie fishing) during our stay. We also rented bikes from them one day, which is a great way to get around the island, especially when its so hot!

After spending 1 week on the island, and seeing the other accommodation that was available, I would recommend this place any day. It was absolutely perfect.

My advise to travellers would be: do not expect Cancun. This island is super laid back and very authentic feeling. If thats what you're looking for, you'll have an amazing holiday.

“Barefoot is the best place to stay on Caye Caulker”

Barefoot Beach Belize/Seaview Hotel

May 1, 2008

My boyfriend and I found this place through Trip Advisor reviews and we LOVED it! It is, by far, the best place to stay on Caye Caulker. It was very peaceful and quiet and only a short walk from town.
We spent a lot of time on the dock and hammocks as it was the perfect place to relax.

A friend of mine met up with us on Caye Caulker and we did the Ragamuffin sail/snorkeling to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Highly recommended! We snorkeled among nurse sharks, manta rays, moral eels and many other beautiful sea life. The crew was a lot of fun and we had a great time on the sail back, drinking rum punch and eating fresh conch ceviche.
